Why would we be a laughing stock if it falls through?

If it falls through its because we arent mugs and we arent being held to ransom

The only people wholl be laughing stocks are the divs making up songs as soon as were linked with someone in the sun or take it as gospel as soon as someone off heres cousins barber cut the hair of the man who washes gary cooks car said..........
I said yesterday I'd eat my own crap on youtube if he came, get real he wasn't interested in coming he's been playing Barca all along. More sensible targets will be chased I'm sure MH has plan B and that's the good point in getting this out of the way early!
I don't care if we're taken the piss out of because nobody will come, I'm sure the top 4 would struggle if they had no CL.

Not reading a ton of pages but are we abit more optimistic today considering his agent saying

"If they have a serious offer from Manchester City, and if they want to continue with this negotiation we could be interested," Mesalles added.

"We haven't spoken to City but if Barca have reached an agreement it shouldn't be that difficult to reach a deal."

?

To me it all sounds like Eto'o doesn't want to be seen as instigating the move. Everyone's trying to get the best press possible out of the move.

This is exactly right. Eto'o doesn't want to be seen as moving just for the money and he wants to retain his hero status with the fans by saying he wants to stay but Barca didn't want him, saving face for himself and blaming the club for getting rid of him. Conversely, Laporta doesn't want to be 'the guy who sold Eto'o' because of his popularity with the fans. He will no doubt try and save face by saying that the club can't compete with our ridiculous offer and David Villa would be better with the wage stucture etc. I still think this will go through.

having just lifted the champions league again,i think i might fancy playing for city for just the love of money, or maybe hes got pots of the stuff and genuinely wants to stay at barca

Eto'o is NOT that popular with the fans believe me they will not clamour for him to stay ala KAKA

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

As I posted yesterday well before it was even conceved that the deal would fall through, this is a minor hiccup over 13 milion Euros, circa £11,000,000 at current exchange rates, no doubt our Arab owners will get a preferencial rate as they own most of the worlds oil.

Does anyone in their right mind think our owners will be embarassed again over what is about an hours interest on their fortune.

Anyone who know arab culture will know they are very very proud men.

whats that old saying once burnt, twice...........................

Chill. If it ever was, it will be. If it was never on in the first place, then there are a couple of ITK who posted in good faith and were let down y sources thats all.

Not the end of the world, we will still have one hell of a season, cant see many more losses to teams like stoke away with our potential squad! Flair and steel through the middle!
