Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]
I'm not sure the loyalty payment IS in his contract, rather that he sees Barca forcing him out in order to make money. if so, I don't blame him for playing hard ball with them over the money they will make from selling him. He's done as much for that club as anyone over the last 5 years, and from his point of view, they're dumping him now rather than letting him leave of his own accord next year, for purely financial reasons. so much for loyalty from barca. take 'em to the cleaners, Samu.
I wouldn't read anything into today's paper stories. If he joins, we'll soon see how much he wants success here. If he really didnt want to come to us, he'd surely have made this known to other clubs before now. yet no-one else has bid. funny that, it's like they know there's no point.

The United story is bullshit, but his contempt for a mind blowing offer is there for all but the blind to see. City should move on and or set Eto a deadline if we are that bothered about him then move on. I really think he will be trouble if signed, the warning signs are there for all to see.
Can't agree with this. If there is a loyalty payment written into his contract, and he has not asked for a move, I fail to see what he is doing wrong by insisting that his contract is honoured. I'd do the same (anyone would). His only public statements have been supportive of a possible move to City. Yes he has said that he doesn't want to leave Barca, but he has to say that to trigger his loyalty payment. He has also said that he would be delighted to sign for City, and he shouldn't be judged on some hatchet job written by a hack with an agenda.
