Official - City end interest in Eto'o [merged]

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

"Correct kind of offer. This is where we should be, chasing the players at Arsenal Chelsea Liverpool ect. Upset the apple cart, unsettle people, let the twats know were sniffing around, let their players know they can double their pay, make the money do the work eventually they will crack, thats why the Arsenal bloke is getting his don about a salary cap, he can smell the coffee."

Thats exactly what we have done, Chelsea are shitting themselves and will have to give him a better contract. Terry should of been our first priority not an after thougth. I dont see what is bizarre about the above statement. In fact i think the penny might of dropped.

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

Knew I shouldnt of read the comments on that site from the likes of quincy in nigeria. Anyway I just popped up a comment.

Lets put the banter aside here.

Manchester United cannot afford Samuel Eto'o. This is clearly an opinion piece. Note the use of the word 'IF' within the story. United have not made an approach. He would not forgoe the loyalty fee he is entitled to, to sign at the swamp. it just isnt happening. If he was that desperate to play champions league he would stay at Barca (the best team in the world) for another year, see his contract out and then move on a free.

United cannot afford him, you need to realize what is happening at your club and get over the big player in the transfer market. You are not. You have more than likely signed Valencia on the drip spread out over the duration of his contract and Owen on a free. Yes you received 80 million for Ronaldo but lets be honest with 700+ million of debt do you think the banks will not be taking a fair size of that? You need to wake up and look and the reality staring you in the face. You can no longer compete at the top table. You are feeding off the crumbs.

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

How the fuck would the NOTW get a quote from a source close to Samuel Eto'o?

He's on holiday and his family live in Cameroon and Spain. The legendary unnamed source strikes again.

I hope Yoonited fans get their hopes up about signing him and he signs for us.

Thats the thing, they are leveling the deluded tag at us but then spouting off about signing Villa, Ribery and Silva in the next sentence. They are so blinkered into believing their club are untouchable and blinkered by the press.

It might seem like fantasy land to them, but the reality is that we are sat at the negotiating table and his agent has openly declared he will sign for us should Barca agree the necessary. They way some of them are behaving off an opinion piece is laughable. To be honest I expected this piece a few days back after Benzema publicly rejected them, i'm surprised it has taken this long to materialize.

Exactly. Where has this mystical source been throughout the last week or so. Oh no sorry he only does sound bites where the rags are concerned, laughable.
