It's ironic that they can't get a hold of Eto'o when you consider the following:

the Cameroonian striker revealed in a Match! magazine interview that he is the proud owner of over 400 mobile phones.

Yeah he can hear it ringing, but he's not sure which one to pick and reply.

400 phones now thats a contract, no wonder ours is taking time.

Reports in Spain suggest Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o is hoping either Manchester United or Chelsea make a late bid to sign him ahead of Manchester City.

The three times African player of the year has reportedly gone awol at the Spanish giants after their president Joan Laporta admitted he was unable to make contact with the former Real Madrid striker.

Laporta said: “I have called him a couple of times but he hasn't answered his mobile.”

“I don't know if he has changed the number or whether he's lost it, but I would like to speak to him.”

The striker is reportedly demanding Barcelona pay him £13 million for him to sign for Manchester City, yet the Catalan giants unsurprisingly appear reluctant to do so. The player has rejected a contract extension at the Nou Camp, believing his 36 goals last season should deserves better terms.

The Daily Mail indicate Eto’o sale to seemingly a club in the Premier League, will allow the European Champions to move for Valencia striker David Villa. The newspaper suggests Eto’o is reluctant to move to a club that will not be playing Champions League football next season.

If the things are as there are them to us counted, there are three substantial new features concerning the future of Samuel Eto'o. The first, and main one, is that the player wants neither to renew nor to follow in the Barça. Second, that the Manchester City demands a definitive answer in 48 hours, and third, that the Barça (still) does not have intention to reduce 25 million that ask by the Cameroun.

We begin… by the end. The version that arrives from the FC Barcelona is that it had valued to Eto'o in 35 million, that has lowered until the 25… and which it does not think to yield more. A question of honor, for, and personnel, for others. Badly business.

So, to summarise:

- Eto'o has decided to leave barca.
- We have imposed a 48hr limit for him to make a decision as to whether we are to be his next club.
- We want the situation resolved for fear of "bigger" clubs coming in for him.
- We have offered everything we are prepared to and will not give any more money to player or club.
- We want to have him out in S Africa as it'd make marketing sense.
- Barca lowered their asking price and that has been seen as bad business on their behalf.
