Well guys i hope you're right , but i think this guy .. a) doesn't want to leave there ..... and b) presumably thinks he's good enough to play Champions League football ONLY !

He's not making the right noises in my eyes ...... which you hardly accuse RSC of during his quest to come here!

And whilst we're on the subject of 'loyalty bonuses' ..... considering he's presumambly earning a fortune in wages already , how much of a loyalty bonus does he expect to get ffs?

He only made his debut there less than FIVE years ago!!!!

With respect, BM, it doesn't matter if he's been there 2 mins or 20 years! If the club are stupid enough to make a contract with that agreement, then they should pay the fook up! They're Clowns, in the extreme, and now they're trying to squirm out of it!

I'm well aware of that Bigga , and that's just my point ....... i don't think Barcelona ARE that stupid , this club won't have mickey-mouse lawyers on their side....... do you really think a club of this fame and stature would have left themselves 'wide-open' when initially paying 24 million Euros for Eto'o , bearing in mind that this player has never seemingly had 'simple' transfer rights?

And what's more Eto's own agent has allegedly DENIED that his player is asking for anything like that sort of money!

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

14.02 Following Joan Laporta's comments that Barcelona are in negotiations with Valencia to sign David Villa, Sky Bet are now offering 4/6 that the striker will move to Camp Nou.

Get in! Hurry up and wrap David Villa up so we can get Sammy!

I got the impression that the agent was saying we've never talked about the money, why should we it's in the contract

Extract .....

The offer came without a pay increase, in contrast to City's offer to make the striker the best-paid player in the world with a £180,000 a week net offer.

Mesalles (Eto's agent) denied his player was looking for a £13million bonus from Barca, or anything resembling the same figure as a signing on fee from City and insisted Eto'o was not motivated by money.

'We have never asked Barcelona to increase his salary this season by even a cent,' said the agent. 'Moreover, the talk of us asking for half of the possible transfer fee to City is entirely false.

'He would be delighted to stay if they want him and we will study their offer if it is serious, but if they don't want him we will do all we can to help Samuel find a new club.

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

Just found something interesting I thought I might share

According to this morning’s Daily Star, Barcelona are ready to accept Manchester City’s £25m offer for Samuel Eto’o, so that they may partially fund a £40m bid for their former employee Cesc Fabregas.

Barca president Joan Laporta supported this theory with an appearance on TVE show 59 Segundos (59 Seconds) last night, where he revealed the extent to which the relationship between the player and the club has deteriorated. Eto’o will apparently no longer answer his phone to the Barca head honcho:

“I’ve called a couple of times, but he did not answer. I do not know if the number has changed, or if his entourage has told him something.

“We have always had a clear and direct relationship. We offered him two more years and we look forward to his response.”

The Spoiler thinks Barcelona should wash their hands of the unprofessional Cameroonian, who appears to be holding them to ransom. In light of these antics, perhaps Manchester City should think twice before meeting his astronomical wage demands…
