So spursmad was wrong. Maybe he planned to get driven off the board because of the shame of getting one wrong ;)

Maybe, maybe not. His assessment was that Barca had said yes and Eto'o had said yes. Those facts may be true and Eto'o or his agent then sought to get some more out of the situation.

There has been some doubt about City's deadline but that has proved correct.

We shall have to see where the clear and strategic plan B takes us.

No spursmad said Eto'o was a 100% done deal!! :/ He's got one wrong?!?!? He also said Lescott and Tevez were 100%, makes me wonder whether he will be wrong about them now too, hopefully not!!!

maybe if spursmad hadnt been hounded out we may have heard about this earlier!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why assume we'll move for another striker?

We'll be interested in any special players who will help to take City to the next level.

I suspect we may have other irons in the fire, otherwise we would not have walked away. At least City are controlling our strategy instead of being buffetted from pillar to post.

I agree, and other players and their agents will think "better not piss this lot about, they walked away from Eto'o"

Could be a VERY important statement from the owners.
Let's face it, they KNOW how to do business.
We may not be at the point where players are desperate to join us just yet, but at least they'll get the idea that it's a privilage to play for City, not th eother way around.

happyblue never said the deal was done

however I am really interested to know what this phone call tolmie was talking about involved. If it was indeed good news, I don't know why we would then pull out.

Ok guessing we have now pulled out of the Eto'o deal... Interestingly (just a thought, dont believe this but) TFM did say this would happen and we would buy Villa! Made me laugh when I saw the news on here we had pulled out and I though about what he said. Anyone any idea as to what he has had to say (Cant be bothered to go on there and look but I know someone will have)?
For me I am not to bothered about this and would love to see us go for Aguero or Folan and have them up front with Tevez. Be interesting if he does now go to the rags... Plus I see Real are in talks with an unamed club over Huntelaar, could it be us?

not my fault! said:

I wouldnt bet against us signing villa now, it seems the most reasonable thing we could do to give barca a smack in the face.

dont you think the sheik may have pulled the plug ,cos they dont suffer fools and dont like to be made to look like cnuts again after all the bad press and piss take city got after the kaka saga.

Guys

Put your toys down, does it really matter who is ITK and who is not?. It's an internet transfer forum, life would be boring if every ITK was right!

Some info is posted in good faith and some is pure crap. Make your own minds up, have your opinion, just don't take everything you read as gospel.

I openly admit I called Kaka as having agreed and that went pear shaped, they didn't rip me apart on bluevibe and I came back as to why it went pear shaped. I learnt from that and stick to facts now, fact is Eto'o is now not coming. Fact is we pulled the plug. Fact is we move on, if he doesn't want to join us it's his loss not ours.

Why do people still say we should sign Villa, i'm pretty sure it was decided a while back that he didn't want to leave Spain? maybe i'm wrong but thats the idea i've got.
