no - that's nowhere near where the new rule states offside begins. It's at the shirt sleeve or upper arm, not the shoulder. Rules. Offside by the rules. Get over it

Think the rules have to change to any body part being level and then if it's tight under that rule you can give offs

These decisions have been given against the goalscorer all season since the change, the rule is a farce but there's no city specific injustice here, accept it and get on with it, we shouldn't be relying on those decisions to win games and ultimately we didn't.

They shouldn't be allowed to use the lines at all. They should look with their eyes and if it's not immediately obvious, then the goal should stand. Or they should go with what the linesman decided. It's supposed to be for clear errors, not forensic investigation into every decision.

The issue with your point about going with the linesman’s decision is, the linesmen currently have clear instructions not to flag for offsides unless there is a clear offside and they are 100% sure. They are told to let the play continue, unless there is no question its offside.

Tonight for both the Laporte and Jesus goals, the original onfield decision was offside for both. Whether Laporte is offside or not i think everyone would agree neither of those incidents were “Clearly” offside. Yet for City the linesman flag is straight up. And its happening against us more and more, WBA being yet another example where we were flagged incorrectly offside and a goal wouldnt have stood in a non VAR world.

Without VAR in play we dont score any of those 3 goals. Instead, with VAR assistance at least 2 stood. For those Blues wanting rid, be careful what you wish for. IMO the decisions we’d get without it would be much worse!
