Speaking of Spencer Prior, watching ESPN classic recently I'd forgotten that he wore the number 7 shirt.

Am I the only one to find that odd?

Nope you are not alone, but saying that, at the time Prior was a good signing.
It's just weird to see a defender with that number, even Vinny couldn't pull it off.

It is the same with Arouna Koné and Asamoah Gyan both striker whose numbers are 2 and 3 respectively. I guess that is superstition for you.

25th Birthday, Decent window, DEEETS

Happy Birthday DB and with us making the not too many signings but the right ones we won't have too many problems fitting them in our squad.

Very decent window in my view. We may have paid big for Garcia (he may prove worth every penny) but we will not be considered a soft touch any more.

Tevez may be the best 'signing' of the lot. Hazard for Sinclair would have made it spectacular, but I'll take Sinclair all day if it means no more parasitic agents knocking on our door with their greasy palms out.

I can't for the life of me understand why our fans are knocking us for selling Ade 'ridiculously cheap' and to a lesser extent Nige. Ade was NEVER going to sell for 'market' value with his reputation and that fat salary hanging around his neck!

Vinny can wear any number with aplomb. I'd love to see him get number 1.

i think we have done ok, some really good buys and some great business done both ways by city, not truthfully the players we were after but at the prices quoted we did right to ignore some of the bery big hitters (thanks platini).

my beef, mancini's too, was it was done far too late, we sailed far too close to the wind, any one of those deals could have collapsed at the eleventh hour leaving no time to shop elsewhere or iron out the deal. mouritino for example at spurs.
mancini deserves more support than that.

anyway we have done well and once again i am immensly proud of my club.

now lets get cracking.

Spent 50mil, brought in 20mil, net spend 30mil.

Shifted the deadwood, shame to see Nige go but at least he has been replaced.

5 players in to bolster the squad who will all be hungry for success.

Good stuff.
