He was excellent on Wednesday, his first touch passes into silva between the lines were superb. he obviously has all the attacking attributes, if he can get his head down and work at his defensive positional play he could have a long term place in the squad.

Firstly, let me say that I want Zin to stay. I think he deserves a new contract. He brings so much strength of character to the squad, in addition to his vastly improved left back skills.
Having said that, I’m not sure how to interpret Pep’s comments about Zin and our move to get 4 or 5 quality players in. Pep was a little bit equivocal about Zin’s long term future with us. This is partly because of the unreliability of Mendy and his fitness. Pep is saying that he can’t trust Mendy, so he’s eyeing off a quality replacement because of Mendy’s fitness.
So I think Zin could be squeezed out if we keep Mendy and say bring in a Chilwell. I don’t want that to happen, and I don’t think most fans want that to happen. I think we’ve all taken a shine to Zin because of his fighting qualities,
I’m just hoping he isn’t squeezed out because Pep can’t trust Mendy.

Pretty sure Felph will go & Zinchenko will fill in all over. Pep had a few players like that over the years..

He would be 'squeezed out' because he's not a left back.
If he was, then he would just be our left back, with Delph & Mendy, as backup.
What Pep is saying, is that our left back, is always injured.

Again my only concern is his lack of pace against teams which provide a genuine threat on the counter attack. Bournemouth didn't do that.
Passing and crossing is top notch and his positional awareness has improved a lot.

Another excellent performance.
Rather than splurge another 200 million on players, perhaps it would be a good idea to get some of the players around 20 back and give them a season in and around the squad to see if they are up to it. They won't all be, for sure, but I reckon at least one will be.
