When it comes to Delph vs. Zinc it depends who the opponent is, but also who in our team is playing. Pep always looks at ways to attack the opposition. It's obvious when we attack in the final 3rd Dave is the key to unlock the opposition on the left. With him not starting Dave I think he wanted to find solutions on attacking from that side. It looked like Zinc was almost a deep lying playmaker. For the 1st goal he puts in a good ball to find Sane in on the left which eventually Bernardo scores. Zinc also put in a cross sitting deeper from the left which also almost found Jesus. I think that caught Bournemouth off guard and they though they'd be defending deep. But Pep was looking at ways to find space behind them from deeper. Delph is always better defensively, but Pep wants to score and Zinc can put in better balls then Delph. Putting Delph in with little creativity could lead to us not scoring as much.

He offers great versatility but I think he’s far more suited to playing in the middle of the park than at left back.

Some of his passes reminded me of De Bruyne.

Thought he was very average today, but so were a few more.
I agree, and I thought Tuesday was his worst performance yet for us, and he wasn't much better today.

The thing is, he really isn't a left back, but he does try very hard wherever he plays, and there is so much room for him to improve.

I think he struggles with the coming inside bit of being a Pep fullback, even though "inside" bit is where he should be best, but its the fullback bit of "inside" he struggles with, not the actual "inside" bit, if that makes sense.

A couple of others (mainly on Tuesday night) reminded me of Jamie Pollock haha.

He's a great young lad, and game for it too, it was clear he didn't want to go off today, but that picture tells me we took long over the decision, that's a nasty looking mess, hope its sorted quickly.

None of Zinchenko, Delph or Mendy inspire any confidence. They each make defensive mistakes every game.

This.

Zinchenko is the worst out of the three but to be fair to him he’s a CAM, and the least defensive out of the three.

Let’s be honest he’s a 2nd rate attacking mid who will end up playing for a lesser team there.
