When you see that replay from the third angle at around 14 seconds he's looking straight at goal when he hits it. Doesn't look anything like an attempt at a cross.
This. He absolutely meant it.
Anyone that has played football for any decent amount of time will see immediately he was trying to catch the keeper out and executed that intent perfectly.

I'm really surprised how many commentators have written it off as a fluke without giving it much thought. Seems a shame that such a good goal has been ignored!

Most commentators operate on the basis that if they're not capable of it, it has to be a fluke. Remember Yaya crossing to the invisible man against Sunderland in 2014?I'm really surprised how many commentators have written it off as a fluke without giving it much thought. Seems a shame that such a good goal has been ignored!
