I think wingers would prefer to play against Zinky than Mendy. Mendy is on big effer! But the thing is we have TWO quality players who can both fit snugly into a starting eleven!

Yes he was willing to stay with City and Pep ,waiting wisely until an opportunity came and boy has he grabbed it in this latter half of the season .

Had an average first half , but nothing phases him , he just keeps trying to play that pass and had a very good 2nd half , gave the ball away like most of the team in the first 45 minutes but huge improvement 2nd half , Mendy has got a fight on his hands to get his place back next season.

He has that thing Pep loves where even if he fucks up, makes a mistake, has a bad 10 minutes or half, he will just keep playing the way Pep's asked him to like nothing happened.

Got better as the game went on,was unsure in the first half,loads of loose passes,even more worried when booked,but got better as the game progressed,gonna be a good un this kid.

Average first half but stepped it up second half. Just staggered how much he makes himself available. Never hides. Really good.

A real unsung hero for me. Never seems to complain about playing in not his preferred position, works hard, is comfortably the best passer in our back four and last night showed a bit of grit too. Hope he signs a long term deal - a good character to have about and is still so young.
