Oleksandr Zinchenko - 2019/20 Performances

He's not good enough to be long term option at left back. He's done a great job stepping in during a period where LB has been a problem position, but it needs sorting now and I don't think he's the answer. He's a good player and has been tremendous value for us but it might be a good time for him to move on really. Would be interested to see him establish himself somewhere else in his favoured position.
 
You'd think if you played a creative midfielder at fullback, he'd at least be good going forward or creative to make up for not being up to much defensively, but he's got absolutely nothing about him going forwards. Sideways or backwards passing, or aimlessly chipped crosses, that's it.
 
Have felt for a while that Zin and Angelino will both be sold this summer.

We need a LB and those 2 shouldn't be to difficult to shift due to age and salary.
 
Love him, love his attitude, love his work rate, but what is his actual position? Another sticking plaster for the lb position like delph, but delph was a cleverer footballer.

He’s doing himself a disservice by hanging around and playing left back cover. He’s a much better player than that and would be better served to move on to a team that will utilize him in his proper position.

He’s much better central. He put one beautiful ball in to Silva that put him one on one. That came when he was in an advanced central role. He’s a good player when used properly.
 
Zinchenko is a good back up for cup games , he is a squad player and always will be , nothing against the lad but he isnt going to break into a Pep side on a regular basis ,he made a stupid mistake and got punished but others made stupid mistakes and got away with it.
He turned down Wolves last year , i think he would think twice if the opportunity came along again , he would do well in a team like Wolves,Villa,Everton less expectation and he would be a mainstay played in his natural midfield role, good player but not the top level required.

Yep, agre with this. Clearly only a temporary fix here and too young to be only that when he might be a regular in most other teams midfields.
 
I don’t even see him As a good midfielder ,certainly not good enough for our midfield
Needs to leave for his own good and we need a proper left back
I just don’t know what he adds to the team other than ball retention
 
It's just evident its time for the club to stop this square peg in round hole bollocks. For too long we've rolled the dice on playing players widely out of position. Just buy a LB now. It's not a criticism of Zinchenko, he just simply shouldn't be there.

yes, he’s been good value for us but it’s time to let him go.

nowhere near good enough at LB or midfield to play for us.
 
Maybe we should continue with the 2 man midfield and rotate between Rodri, Gundog, and Zinny. Plenty of play time for each, allows Tommy Doyle to play in a better position as a box-to-box for the future, allows both fullbacks to attack instead of 1 (+ offensive midfielder its a trade off), and frees to have one pure attacking midfielder in Kevin, Bernardo, Phil, Mahrez etc.
 
I don't think he deserves too much slate as he got dispossessed like Gundogan, KDB, or any of our midfielders could have..let alone being played in an improper position. Teams love to score wondergoals against us but it cant be too much on Zinch
