Yes, just read it and I think things are clear now! It is all about the work permit.

So let's hope that UAE crack the top 70 by July 1

Good news is UAE is moving up in the rankings.

Bad news is they are 99.... quite the way to go in a matter of months??? Wonder how that works... FIFA always confuse the shit out of me with their ranking system.
They just have to keep winning.

Good thing is that UAE play seemingly more international games than most other national teams around them so they can build up points that way.

No mention of the trial with us I see. Andy James must be a journalist that doesn't read bluemoon, unlike most of his colleagues ;-)

Arsenal and Barcelona set for transfer tussle over UAE starlet Abdulrahman

By Andy James

Arsenal have joined Barcelona in monitoring United Arab Emirates forward Omar Abdulrahman ahead of a potential summer swoop.
Barca scouts were first alerted to the 21-year-old during the UAE’s participation in the London Olympics, according to Catalan paper Sport.
And Arsenal have joined the Spanish giants in keeping tabs on the talented attacker.

Gunners spies are continuing to make regular checks on Abdulrahman, who currently plays for Al Ain.
The playmaker, who has been compared to David Silva, has also attracted interest from Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund, Schalke, Hamburg and Malaga.
Malaga see Abdulrahman as a ideal replacement for Isco, who has just broken into the Spain squad and is set to leave this summer.
Abdulrahman’s representatives have held a series of meetings with potential suitors ahead of the summer transfer window.

And if we go on to sign him now the Arsenal fans will do their usual "You only signed him because we wanted him" shtick when it's more like the opposite. :P

Mohammed Obaid an official from Al-Ain FC was asked about how serious the rumors are about Barcelona and Arsenal interest in Omar Abdulrahman in which he responded to by saying:

"There is no no smoke without fire"

It seems to me that there is some serious interest from those two giants!!!

I think we will be able to nick him seeing as he wants to come here from the interviews and the fact that we were trying to get him to sign a contract. The UAE ties in Khaldoon and Sheikh Mansour should be big factors in him joining.

I agree. Also, since the two weeks trials up to now, he proved enough to be a special talent. He got an offer from Benfica FC which her rejected, and attracted the interest of the clubs like Hamburg, Malaga, Shcalke, Barca and Arsenal.. He has more than enough in his portfolio.

He praises Sheikh Mansour's brother in a recent article in The National. He is the CEO at Al Ain. Think the links are too strong for him to go anywhere else, in England in particular.
