On this day 54 years ago..

a terrible tragic loss of life, but as a football club manchester united's hypocrisy know's no bounds with their constant money making promotion of the munich disaster.....

Nice to see blues pay their respect. The accident affected the city, not just a club.

the Manchester blitz killed nearly a thousand just a few short years before the accident in Munich

there is nothing like the same attention given to those events which clearly impacted on a far greater number of families

a bit of perspective is all some of us are asking for

RIP and all that but how long before this gets put to bed like hundreds of tradgedys over the years?

Probably never so long as the rags can milk it for sponsorship money

On this day 4 years ago I was in the home end on my feet shouting "BASTAAARD" at the top of my voice when Darius got the second, skilfully managing to manipulate my vocal chords at the last second to change the sound generated from my involuntary reaction. I would've been mercilessly tutted at if I hadn't exhibited such swift presence of mind.

I think this is the point many people are making, it's the exploitation of the tragedy, like it was some major event in history, when in reality it was quite minor and should be just a foot note in history rather than something people (the majority like me who were not even born then) have constantly rammed down our throats (like Sky yesterday)

So you're bemoaning a club for remembering a pivotal incident in its history? I take it you do the same with Braford, Liverpool, Juventus etc etc or are you being a thick ****?

RIP, Manchester remembers.

Those who like to sing Munich chants, or use Munich to have a pop a them lot, imagine waking up the morning after the Porto away game to hear the news the City plane had crashed and the likes of David Silva, Micah Richards, Joe Hart, Kun Aguero had all died.

A shuddering thought, have some respect.

Remember it yourselves then...why throw it at the rest of us ??? If it was that pivitol then why do people have to 'pay' to go into the munich memorial museum at the swamp ?? and why does none of the proceeds go to the victims..??

Dont confuse Milking and remembering .

so why is it just the club that remembers it year in year out....??

I'll tell you what finally did it for me shall I...On the day of the 50th aniversary when you played us at the swamp during the minutes silence, the sight of ferguson chewing his gum like he was on speed... The City fans were impeccable...shame the same couldnt be said about your manager..

Here you go 44 seconds in..
