I was there, although there weren't that many who went to Chelsea in those days... at either end!

lol, can't believe the linesman was flagging for a fk in the build-up to the goal. At least the ref could see there was absolutely nothing in it :)

I have never got this Clive Allen thing, i'm always wary of players that kiss the badge of their sixth club or how ever many it was.....yep he was a great poacher of goals but didnt fit into our pattern of play under Kendall or Reid. Its a disgrace that Heath is slagged off on here, this was a guy with 2 championship, 1 F.A. Cup, 1 League cup, 1 ECWC medals to his name, who may not have scored his fair share of goals but complimented Quinny in the team, and after all it is a team game. The same could be said about Rodney Marsh when comparing with Clive Allen and look how the team progressed when we shipped him out of the club.
As for Ian Bishop, nice player but lightweight, i think we got the better deal with Mark Ward.

That has to be a windup

rvz urmston,s post is spot on. every word of it.

adrian heath ran his balls off for city, he played his part in making us tough to beat, was a team player and helped us to 5th in the league.when he joined us we were bottom of the league.bishop and allen helped put us there.

Drivel. I think the years have fucked with your mind.

I was away at Notts County when we were losing 2 - 1 and the city fans were screaming for him to be bought on. Eventually he came on and bagged two goals but the way he ran across to the line to gesture at the bench said it all!! He was a great player at City.

His goal v Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in 89/90 was superb.

I was there.
I was only 7 then and didn't go but remember the radio commentary: "it's a goal" "And it's Clive Allen from thirty yards out, what a goal!"

Before my time but my dad was there. Quality goal and glad he has good words to say about us.
