this is knee-jerk shit mate, which I don't blame anyone for. Savic has a big pair of boots to fill, f*cking Kompany size boots, which is a daunting ask. He's young and the pressure got to him tonight.

He gave a penalty early on, and we had the whole game to fight back and score 3 or 4 times, but we didn't. In the 1st half we had no possession of the ball, no drive forward in the middle of the flanks and I think Nasri's shit shot was the only shot at goal in the 1st half and even that wasn't on target.

I think we were still pissed and down about the FA cup knockout and just didn't have it in us all that added with the fact Silva was not even on the bench and Yaya away too.

He had a good half against Utd, and a good 2nd half against Liverpool (although in these halves the opponents were not attacking!).

You have to give new players and young players time to adapt. Look at Luiz and he is in his 2nd season. Kolo and Lescott took time to adapt and they were very experienced Premiership players. Just don't write players off after a poor game

I didn't have a problem with any of the defence tonight. 1 mistake cost us but these things happen. If we had our shit together going forward then we wouldn't even be discussing this.

Neither his age nor the number of appearances he's made really matter that much. We have a problem at centre half and Savic right now isn't good enough. He's been bullied by Bothroyd, Helguson, and now Carrol, this season. We did the same thing last season with Boyata, in terms of shattering a young players' confidence by dropping him into a pressure game when he patently isn't ready.

We need someone with a footballing brain at the back at the moment, with kompany and kolo missing and micah lescott and Savic aren't that sort of player, it ain't looking to good.

I'd play zaba next to lescott for the next few games, I think he'd organise them better than the 3 above.
