Open Letter on Season Tickets and Pricing | Club announce price freeze on "general admission season tickets & PL match tickets" for next season (p163)

Exactly.

The overriding priority by the club over the last few years and seasons has been hospitality and tourists. And it will continue. That's where the increased money and match day revenue is coming from.

What still really irks me is the larger and more visible advertising boards at the expense of 1000+ additional seats. And 1000+ additional City fans on a match day.

How the hell can the people running the club prioritize larger and more visible advertising boards over City fans who are desperate to see City play?
The decision remove those extra rows to put the larger boards in was also due the fact extra seats being completely exposed to the rain (as well as the extra income from advertising).

However, when you watch back at games from the period the extra rows were there the stadium looks so much better.

Bad decision to remove them but fits in with all the shit decisions taken recently.

As Tivvyblue says - after our success the club should have support that is the envy of the world - instead they have manage to alienate most of us.

With all the 115 shit they have caused they should have been doing everything to keep fans onboard cause if the shit everybody has to deal with - yet they done the exact opposite.

Because like it or loathe it we are a huge business. Supply and demand Is a big factor. If the club for example put prices up to 70/80 pound a ticket and people (tourists/trippers) are still snapping them up then the club will continue to charge those prices.

Only when the ground is half empty will they take note.
The Watford league cup game the ground was half full/empty.

Maybe?

There are more dry days than wet days during the season. Most front row seats in every stadium suffer rain and inclement weather issues.

The rest of your post is spot on.

But local people, families, and their kids aren't.

Once you start ignoring and alienating your local fan base, you are in for trouble in the future.

Pep won't be here forever. He's the only person who has guaranteed success on the pitch and filled the Etihad. Once Pep has gone there is no guarantee of success on the pitch or a full Etihad.

Who's going to fill those seats and the Etihad then, when the club have priced out the local fan base?

With an extra 8000 seats to fill for some home games next season, the club needs to come up with some new and radical ways to sell tickets, make them affordable, so the Etihad remains full.

The club is at the be careful stage, if not already gone passed it.

They need to keep it affordable.

They need to not lose anymore good blues and try and entice some back.

I presume once again the season ticket rep is missing in action? As long as she’s personally happy with the price of her season ticket, everybody else can forget having any representation.

The seats removed were the extra ones they installed when the South Stand was extended the problem with these rows is that they were at same level as the existing from rows so no rake which wasn't very good

It's City's seasoncard holders that seem alienated, not locals.

We have already seen that if the prices are sensible then young kids will come with their parents but these games are few and far between i.e. Salford in the cup. The local parents can't fork out for a season card for themselves or their kids and we will lose this generation of kids. Anyone under the age of 18 who started getting interested in football at aged 5 (so around 2011 / 2012) will know nothing but City success and players like Aguero, Silva, Kompany, Toure, Foden, Haaland etc. These youngsters should be packing the ground but aren't because of the cost. A SC for under 14's in the new expanded North stand should be £95 per game but limited to 500 providing that they are accompanied by an adult SC holder whose ticket should cost £400 (1,000 new SC holders with an adult and child SC costing £495 for the 19 PL games). The area is closely monitored with cameras and upon entrance to ensure that an adult is attending with the child, anyone not doing so will have both tickets removed but no money refunded. They can pass them on to friends to use but again only to an under10 plus adult. The adult cannot attend alone. Season cards for 14 - 18 year olds should cost £300 in the North stand only and again limited to 1,000. Both these groups must attend a minimum of 15 out of the 19 games otherwise the ticket is withdrawn. I am sure there should be other criteria in place to ensure these 2,000 tickets in total aren't abused but it's a start in getting young fans into the ground on a regular basis back and maybe some disconnected older fans.

Season ticket holders are being targeted. You're correct

But Mancunians, local people, families, and their kids are being priced out of PL games. Look at the prices of under 18 tickets. It's a fucking disgrace. The club should be ashamed of themselves, but they aren't, as they keep on charging under 18's high match day ticket prices.

As others have pointed out on numerous occasions, once legacy fans drop off/out, they don't often come back again.

City can keep on chasing the hospitality and tourists pound, but once success on the pitch dries up, that revenue stream will start declining. Who will they turn to then to fill those empty expensive seats?

The Club include Flexi Gold in this figure (I know people differ on that), but they have confirmed that there are 37,000 season ticket holders. We also have over 140,000 Cityzen members.

There are 20,700 season ticket holders on the UEFA Scheme.

I'm surprised there's that many on the cup scheme, my block I feel like the only season card holder

Do the club have any idea how they are perceived by the fanbase in terms of pricing, ignorance of legacy fans, the proliferation of tourists and half and halves etc? They seem to have gone out of their way to alienate legacy fans in the last 2 or 3 years. And Pep then complains about the lack of atmosphere. Do the seniors talk to each other? The loss of revenue through worse results because of the alienation of legacy fans will absolutely dwarf the tourist income. Lunacy

Does that 20.7k include Madrid fans?

No mate Barca fans :)
