If there's one person or group of people to blame for high prices it's probably the Glazers. They perfected the art of increasing prices steadily to the point where demand only just meets supply.

But there's also no doubt that Arsenal played a full part in everything that modern football has become. Failure to recognise this is self-delusion at its worst. And Danny Fiszman was Arsenal's Sheikh Mansour 20 years ago.

If you'd read my earlier post, you might not have said that. It's because there are 2 sugar daddies that the prices have gone up so much. I stated that earlier.

You say that you could afford high wages because you earned it by winning things.

One of the reasons you won things was because businessman put their own money into your club to make it better.

None of our directors have put their own money in in the last 30 years. Hill-Wood was bragging about it not so long ago. I'm not old enough to remember those days. Sorry.

The story is that Danny Fiszman put in £50m in 1994 (in return for shares I think) which funded Rioch then Wenger. Players like Bergkamp, Platt, Vieira, Overmars & Petit were all bought out of that money. Around that time you were usually mid-table and not much better than us. That money made you successful.

Everyone has a different version of events, fans included! The board/staff constantly give us spiel and bs. Hill-Wood has boasted recently about none of the board spending their own money. Then I hear -yet another- version of events over here!
Never know who to believe. Think that's why I came here. Get some normal conversation from people with a bit more perspective!!
Gooner boards have become more and more retarded as in-fighting between factions of fans gets more intense!
Guess, that's why I try to turn a blind eye and just go to enjoy the games. Even that is becoming more frustrating as our team has deteriorated! Knowing that money is in the bank and we're buying duds like Gervinho 5 heads and Squillachi!! WTF?!

tbf, I'd done no research into figures, and i've not got the greatest memory! Plucked that figure out me proverbial. Knew you guys could correct me, so couldn't be bothered to google it.
Still, i think some people are bitter that the richest man in the world wanted a new toy and chose you guys. I can't deny that.
We're also bitter that we have to pay so much to even pretend to keep up (i know, we're not even keeping up tbh), when you guys are subsidised by a rich man paying proper season ticket prices and winning silver to boot. You'd be bitter if you were paying more than Utd fans if they were winning all the trophies too!
