This is a huge part of the appointment and, for me, its real significance.
The gulf between Italian and English culture is huge, the gulf between Italian and English footballing culture even more so. No question this was a problem last season, especially as Hughes was very British in his approach and Mancio very Italian. It was a stark difference.
Platt is a bridge between the two-English, but huge experience of the Italian way and presumably a decent level of Italian.
It could work. I'm pretty sure that's the reason behind it.
