I´m effing suspicious about 30-40 posters on here with very few posts and very outspoken opinions about Platt..I think it´s a backlash from Ono´s wumming-trip.

David platt is now employed by the club. As is carlos tevez. As was terry cooke. As was shaun goater. Roberto mancini, he who supposedly sold the club to david silva has ok'd it. He's not going to deliberately fuck us over while on the payroll.

Platt is another Venables.................Never be a good manager but his coaching skills are well known for all involved in the game.
As i have said before it was brought to the powers above of the lack of communication in training as a big downfall with Mancini.
If Platt works as a go between and gains respect from the squad.....Bobby has pulled off a masterstroke in this appointment.

This is a huge part of the appointment and, for me, its real significance.

The gulf between Italian and English culture is huge, the gulf between Italian and English footballing culture even more so. No question this was a problem last season, especially as Hughes was very British in his approach and Mancio very Italian. It was a stark difference.

Platt is a bridge between the two-English, but huge experience of the Italian way and presumably a decent level of Italian.

It could work. I'm pretty sure that's the reason behind it.

Platt's last job in football (when he completely screwed up the England U21's only for his successor to have a tremendous run with the same players) was in 2004. That's SIX YEARS AGO.

Either he's completely useless or everyone else is completely useless for not employing him.

The above mentioned never went out of their way to slag city off

And I tell you something else before you give the anti Manure response, I was actually glad when Les took over after Sven because at the time thats what we needed

One more thing - this has caused an angry reaction (I thought I was one of a few who dispised Platt) 80% - 90% of people on here think its wrong

He'll be damaging the club because he's a shit coach and also a hypocrite. He's happy enough to slag off our players who (in his opinion) are only here for the money yet doesn't think twice about taking it himself.

i'm sorry mate, but i don't agree......we all have a passion for this club and show it in different ways....we also all opinions on this club, that's what binds us as supporters.

Support for you maybe to sit back and enjoy the ride regardless mate...support for others maybe to voice their opinion and WE are all entitled to that
