For Platt to get sacked we'd need to lose a lot of games and show signs of crushing failure. I'd rather avoid that situation (again) to be honest.

not necessarily mate....i mentioned earlier in another thread...it's all about how you measure success.....take grant & scolari @ chelsea, they measured success a lot higher than we do at the moment...,but there will be a time where champs league qualification and 2nd/3rd/4th place is not good enough

I look forward to those times Shady and if Platt shows signs of being bad at his job then I'll be the first to want him shown the door.

However, if Mancini thinks Platt can add to the backroom team then I'm willing to give the guy a shot. He can't be any worse than Bowen and the rest of Hughes' posse, surely?

It's just the lack of objectivity that winds me up on here at times. You only need to look at the threads regarding Piers Fucking Morgan and his articles...he writes something pro City and he's 'the best journo in the world', he has the nerve to suggest we're not the best team ever in the history of the world and he's a 'shit journo'.

Gotta say, I can't stand Platt.
Shit player, shit commentator and a shit coach.
I hate the way he slagged of city and given a choice I wouldn't have him within a million miles of the club.

Some City fans are desperate to moan like little bitters and will look for any excuse.

We've a season of it to come, Mancini could win 37 games in the league but lose the last one and this place would explode with the righteous anger of the terminally retarded and bitter membership.

Just as the club will now attract the plastic glory hunters so too will we start to lose the people who found some weird kudos in supporting a shit team like it made them a 'real' fan where as a Manc born season ticket holding rag could never be that 'real'. It's pathetic and so far beneath me that typing this post has made me feel ill.

I think you are almost completely wrong on this.

A few city fans are 'desperate to moan' , but it is only a few. Most of us crave success.

You are just massively over generalising

If what has triggered your post is the popular dislike of Platt, could that not be simply because it is a well justified dislike that has nothing to do with any general desire to moan? Afterall, the bloke is a first class cnut as the vast majority of city fans, like all other fans, know very well.

Moaning? Bitter?

I don't think so.

Just stating the bleedin obvious more like.

David Platt has completely passed me by. I remember him as a player for England and Arsenal, and that's that. Maybe he has slated us in the press, I'm not really that arsed to be honest. We've been a comedy club for most of my life, I've no beef with those who laughed just as I expect no beef now when I laugh at the rags.

If people don't like the guy that's fine but some of the hysteria on here is laughable especially as yesterday we signed a player that's sort of worth getting excited about.

I dare say I did generalise a little but come on, some of the anti Platt posts are either rag wums or seriously deluded people.

what did you think of platt everytime he slated us in the media

honestly now

I'd need to see specific quotes before I commented to be honest. I generally avoid Sky and the tabloids as it's mostly lies and fabrication where football is concerned.

We can be as precious as we like, I'd die for City but I'll admit that we've been shit all my life and even now we're still far from being incredible.

I felt much worse when Cole and Hughes came to the club to be honest as they were genuine rag legends.

If Platt is a good coach but hates City then I'd rather him than a shit coach that quite likes us. This is professional sportsmen we're talking about, I trust that most can put aside little squables and deal with the job in hand.

Franny Lee and Alan Ball genuinely wanted City to prosper, doesn't mean I'd want either back. Likewise, Dickov died every week whilst playing for us but I wouldn't want him as player or manager as we've moved on.

I'm not knocking people for not liking Platt but it's just so trivial in the great scheme of things.

Well if you feel that ill why don't you go to bed, I'm sure your David Platt duvet will improve your tum tum!!! :)

Got to say that I can't stand this prick and I'm hoping he gets the sack ASAP.

Mr Mancini...tut tut tut!!!!!!

Also if Mancini decides to up and feck off then we will be left with David fucking Twatt as our caretaker manager.......ARRRRRRGH!!!! That scary!!!!

For Platt to get sacked we'd need to lose a lot of games and show signs of crushing failure. I'd rather avoid that situation (again) to be honest.

I was hoping he'd get caught on the end of a dogs cock or something similar and be sacked immediately.... ;)

It's Platt not Roy Keane!

Hughes probably bummed dogs though.

I see Bombo's "Has Anyone Thought About Burning David Platt" thread seems to have been been sensitively merged as part of "David Platt Joins City"
- original title thrust not quite captured there I think
- here's a couple more that have been overlooked during the housekeeping:
David Fffing Platt!

David Platt on SSN

Gary Neville next then eh?

Got to draw the line somewhere.

The line should have been drawn before GENUINE RAG LEGENDS like Hughes, Cole and Schmeichel joined the club.

After watching Hughes rape the club, I'd see Neville captaining the club as a huge improvement.

Usually have time for your posts but this is frankly ridiculous. Regardless of his ragdom Hughes treated this club with respect and handled himself with dignity. Platt has done nothing but disrespect this club over many years and his allegiance to the rags is worn proudly, neither accusation could be levelled at Hughes. I'm going to have to bite the bullet and leave it at that on his past utterings because he is RM's choice but you can fuck right off if you think you can shut me up from passing an opinion on his past coaching and managerial record which is truly awful. And if he's been employed as a conduit to the players for language reasons then I'd just point you at the unrest he caused at Forrest. After the bile spilled in the direction of Hughes, it's fucking bizarre that people are getting so uppity defending this appointment which, although I hope it doesn't, could well be the single most disruptive decision to our chances of success possible.
Platt is not only disliked by our supporters but by the footballers who've had the displeasure of working with him. You think the Elano/Hughes shit was distasteful?, just fuckin wait!

paper reads david platt joins city as mancinis no2 is that true ?
if so what is to happen to brian kidd?
