Shit player, shit commentator and a shit coach.
I hate the way he slagged of city and given a choice I wouldn't have him within a million miles of the club.

However,

I support our manager and the decisions he makes.
We need to give him our full backing and support. Therfore if Mancini thinks Platt will aid him in the quest for trophys then ill trust his judgement and back him 100%!!

Exactly how I feel.

On a forum which worships Man Utd legend Mark Hughes, it's a bit rich to now turn on a lesser rag such as Platt.

He's a coach for fucks sake, not like he's playing up front and scoring 23 goals or anything.

I'd need to see specific quotes before I commented to be honest. I generally avoid Sky and the tabloids as it's mostly lies and fabrication where football is concerned.

We can be as precious as we like, I'd die for City but I'll admit that we've been shit all my life and even now we're still far from being incredible.

I felt much worse when Cole and Hughes came to the club to be honest as they were genuine rag legends.

If Platt is a good coach but hates City then I'd rather him than a shit coach that quite likes us. This is professional sportsmen we're talking about, I trust that most can put aside little squables and deal with the job in hand.

Franny Lee and Alan Ball genuinely wanted City to prosper, doesn't mean I'd want either back. Likewise, Dickov died every week whilst playing for us but I wouldn't want him as player or manager as we've moved on.

I'm not knocking people for not liking Platt but it's just so trivial in the great scheme of things.

cheers for been honest. i agree with what you have to sayif he does turn out to be a good coach then happy days for city.

all i know is anytime ive seen him on a panel or co commentator he was willing the other team to win or getting interview re city he was totaly anti city and the money "players jumping on the gravy train" etc. and if i ever see him outside the ground i will pull him up on it in a nice way though. this is the only reason i dont want him

but if he turns out to be a success i be the first to hold my hand up and say thank god i was wrong

not necessarily mate....i mentioned earlier in another thread...it's all about how you measure success.....take grant & scolari @ chelsea, they measured success a lot higher than we do at the moment...,but there will be a time where champs league qualification and 2nd/3rd/4th place is not good enough

Platt is another Venables.................Never be a good manager but his coaching skills are well known for all involved in the game.
As i have said before it was brought to the powers above of the lack of communication in training as a big downfall with Mancini.
If Platt works as a go between and gains respect from the squad.....Bobby has pulled off a masterstroke in this appointment.

We've a season of it to come, Mancini could win 37 games in the league but lose the last one and this place would explode with the righteous anger of the terminally retarded and bitter membership.

Just as the club will now attract the plastic glory hunters so too will we start to lose the people who found some weird kudos in supporting a shit team like it made them a 'real' fan where as a Manc born season ticket holding rag could never be that 'real'. If what has triggered your post is the popular dislike of Platt, could that not be simply because it is a well justified dislike that has nothing to do with any general desire to moan? Afterall, the bloke is a first class cnut as the vast majority of city fans, like all other fans, know very well.
