So just so I'm clear what your idea of logic is:
What about people who supported American foreign policy but didn't vote?
What about people who voted (for Bush presumably) but didn't really know what his foreign policy was but he seemed like a nice boy?
Your view of people's motivations for voting is alarmingly simplistic. Especially as I recall George W Bush advocating a less interventionalist foreign policy in his election speeches in 2000. Does that make people who voted for him a little more 'innocent'?
