After 9/11..in his first interview...(Bush) did say we will have a new crusade... we all know what that means now dont we!

Here you go again with Bush.

I don't like Bush. I am not supporting Bush. Wanting OBL dead does not equate to supporting the semi-literate shaven ape that is W.

Civilian men, women and children mercilessly and deliberately slaughtered by Al Qaeda and groups inspired by them in New York, Pennsylvania, Washington, London, Egypt, Bali, the Philippines, Malaysia, India, Pakistan, Thailand, the Trans Caucasus, Madrid, Morocco etc etc etc were just that - merciless deliberate targets. The number of civilians deliberately targeted by Allied forces in Iraq will be an extremely small percentage of whatever the total number of civilian deaths is - and will be dwarfed by the number of civilians killed by extremist Islamists of the al Qaeda franchise and the Sunni/Shia communal bloodletting that continues as we type.

Wow. Far too sensible for you that post is. Agree with every word though.
Suppose if you’re a ghost that’s comforting to know the bomb that killed you came from the USA instead of say Iran...do you think it makes a lot of difference..does it fuck ..when your dead its over..

It’s still nearer a million dead (for the good guys)as opposed to say 10000 for the evil villain who cannot even plead not guilty..New York, Pennsylvania, Washington maybe.. but now we will never know..
For this lot he is not even on the board.. London, Egypt, Bali, the Philippines, Malaysia, India, Pakistan, Thailand, the Trans Caucasus, Madrid, Morocco

Dont get fat..with all that B/S you keep swallowing

I was not just talking about Islam and OBL. My post referred to "this mess" and the Christian Crusades were not exactly a peaceful starting point.

Show me evidence of any sort where Bush demanded that or suggested that innocents should be targetted. I am talking about orders not some yank country hicks with itchy trigger fingers.

After 9/11..in his first interview...(Bush) did say we will have a new crusade... we all know what that means now dont we!

The very thing I and my friends discussed was the rhetoric coming from Bush and his party . The use of the words Crusade and Gods War ,with Gods help ,ect.... The excessive use of these words to incite hatred towards Muslims as a whole was an outrage .Like he was a spokesperson for Christiandom . Its like the Cold War all over again . Where the Us want to be world leader all over again . The Libyan rebels being their Contra`s . Whatever next undermining China before they become too big for their boots.

Why don't you read articles properly? I stated that the long list of atrocities (don't forget the etc etc) was committed by groups inspired by Bin Laden and Al Qaeda and their modernist hating idealogies not that they were committed by Bin Laden.

Professor Juan Cole is one of the most informed writers on the Middle East and the Muslim world in general, he is very liberal in his opinions and opposed the Iraq war and the Bush administrations policies in the middle east (he has lived there and speaks most of the languages of the Middle East and South Asian) he wrote a brilliant book which I think those who are interested should read called Engaging the Muslim World

His thoughts on the Bin Laden death can be found here

On the moring it was announced he had been killed i was watching the news, it was either Sky or the BBC and they put up a picture that they claimed was of Bin Laden after he had been shot, there was a clear injury to his left eye and he wsa covered in blood.

Did anyone else see this?

i can't understand what is going on now about releasing photo's if this has already happened.

My wife saw the photo as well,

Did anyone else see this

It's all getting a bit spinny now. The US have to say that he was unarmed because they can't show him going down fighting until the end (then realised that saying that they shot an unarmed man was probably stupid); the Bin Laden supporters will say anything that lionises him.

I find it incredibly hard to believe that the world's most wanted man, sat in a purpose built compound, surrounded by loyalist followers didn't resist.

if he didn t resist why shoot him? he s worth more alive than dead. it stinks of lies

Whilst I agree with your words about lies, Bin Laden would really NOT have been worth more alive.

He would have had a stage (in any court case) whereupon he could have spouted more of his vile words, poisoning the minds of many thousands more gullible muslims. One clip I saw mentioned hostage-taking, this would undoubtedly have increased, with the release of OBL being their main aim, and we all know that would nbever have been allowed.

You really think he would have talked and spilled info about his cohorts whilst in custody? Never in a million years.

Had he been charged and gone to court over his actions, he would have been given the death penalty, making him the martyr that he always wanted to be.
This way, I don't think he has.

Unless he was there and saw it with his own eyes then he is only getting secondary information like everybody else.

-- Wed May 04, 2011 8:25 pm --

No I don't believe in the death penalty, however, someone that has committed atrocities and is responsible for the targetted deaths of thousands of innocent people moves off the scale. It is not called being a hypocrite, it is understanding that not everything is as black and white (or for you, as digital, a 1 or a 0), there are shades of grey and they rest.

Surely then what you are saying is you do believe in the death penalty but it has to be in the most absolute extreme of circumstances?

It never happened. Photoshop may yet be the world's worst invention!!

Anyway, I'm not sure why talking Bush is a good thing, people.

Remember, this is a man that nearly died by asphyxiation via a PRETZEL from his own hands...

He doesn't bare thinking about!
