It does seem more and more likely that Otamendi will be arriving in the next week or so, the interesting question if he does will be how do we fit 5 centre halves into 4 spots? Denayer doesn't need to be squad registered, however Otamendi would make it 5 centre halves on the books, and that's too many really.

KdB in squad but we are still fairly convinced he's still coming. IMHO, I think making Mangala part of the deal is foolish. With Kompany coming off a down year and injury prone and Denayer as young and inexperienced in the prem this could have the opposite intended impact.
 
Has Otamendi ever been pushed to cdm? He likes to push forward anyway so maybe pellegrini is thinking of playing him just in front of Mangala and kompany as extra protection. If so it could work really well.
