Firstly the price is £28m rather than £35m.

Secondly, and here's the big plus point, the deal isn't really us paying out any money. Instead it is us cancelling payments for Negredo meaning that he's only costing us £3m. We will presumably book it as Negredo + £3m for him.

It's even better business because we paid 16m+4m add ons for Negredo and not all the add ons will have been paid for (probably half at most due to PL win), so, basically we're signing Otamendi for around £20/21m

Not sure but there was a ITK on the MCFC subreddit who called this weeks ago and when it was brought up in this thread it was derided and laughed out by people saying bullshit we don't need another CB etc.

Don't think we desperately need a CB, at least not in terms of the PL, but considering it's Otamendi I'm buzzing about this.

I just love his attitude/style on the pitch. He's gonna be a big fans favourite.

Mangala is definitely improving but he does seem to have a bit of the Titus Brambles about him, I'm still not 100% convinced by him so far but he has made a good start to the season. Don't know much about Otamendi to be fair so can't comment too much on him

Back to Otamendi will admit I haven't a clue as to how good he is (or not) but I am delighted Mangala is not being shifted out and the guy does have a cool name so fuck it thats good enough for me...
