Other fans perceptions of us

Watching the match last week abroad with another blue I met, and when Leicester scored one of a group of black London lads cheered and shouted "I hate City " in our faces. All the crap spouted continually by the press and social media winds people up.

I must be the 'exception that proves the rule' as the saying goes. I am never bothered about wearing my City gear if I am going out casually or for a walk or anything and I have always had favourable comments about City.
I was out for a walk in Worsley the day after we got through to the CL final and a guy walking in the opposite direction wearing a Manchester United shirt (as he was polite I'm not calling him the name!) said great game last night, well done. We then had a chat about football and he was very complimentary about Pep and some of our players, including my beloved John Boy! His attitude about the money was well it was about time we caught up basically.
Before lockdown 1 I was visiting a friend and although I wasn't wearing City gear this time we got talking with some of her friends (in Shropshire) and they were also very complimentary and were actually saying that they reckoned other fans were jealous.
I usually remark on City tops if I am walking by, a little lad last week said thank you when I said great top, great team!

Is it me? Do people not feel they can insult my team around me because I am old and a woman or what? Obviously my rag supporting brothers laughingly insult my team but I give as good as I get!! :-)
Had many a good natter with football-mad locals in Italy,Spain and Holland.99% were very complimentary about us and
most brought up the Sergio goal as their favourite moment.By the same token, the rags got no favours when mentioned.

Stupid to go in any pub in Didsbury and criticize City, the locals,me included, don't take kindly to it at all.

Well they weren't exactly shouting it from the rooftops but he was getting quite animated. He realised by my face and when I got tired of him and started back he apologised.

That's the best bit, when they get animated. They realise they are fighting a losing battle.

Although I've not been abroad for a year I tend to not wear anything City anymore, it's not worth the hassle of dicks in the airport, hotel, beach etc gobbling off, especially when I've got Mrs Moon with me.

Even within my group of mates I rarely talk football as it becomes City bingo or it's my fault I don't like what they say.

Life was much easier when we were shit for everyone. ;)
Fuck em all, wear your colours and let them choke on their own piss!

The bastards are taking the piss with the flags now, this is at their stadium today.

Hi EB,
Re the last paragraph of your excellent post; being old on it's own won't save you. Trust me, from personal experience, I know. The fact that you are a lady will shield you from 90% of the potential stick. Speaking for myself, I wouldn't dream of having a go at a lady for who she supports. It wouldn't sit well with me. Others will disagree. So be it.
