Ouija Board Experiences

So, has anyone ever done a ouija board and what were your experiences.

I bought a ouija board a few years ago when I was throwing a Halloween party at my house.

We did it sat on the floor in the living room in candle light with Most Haunted on in the background. You know, trying to set an atmosphere!
There was 'activity' on the board which we all mistook as another messing about...though nobody owned up. It wasnt much but we wrote it down anyway. When asked if 'they' knew anybody in the room, my initials came up, but a either of the other 5 people taking part would know that.

The next day I was discussing the 'results' with my mum, who pointed out the age would have been the age of my nanna. My mum also noticed that the letters the 'spirit' provided as their name 'CLA'...could have been spelling part of the nickname my Grandad gave my nanna, 'Granny Clampet' A few seconds after indicating 'A', the plinth started moving round and round the board and then stopped and that was the end. When looking at it this way, and knowing my initials came up, I have to think that maybe something really happened.

For the further three months I lived in that house, I was a bit 'spooked' after seeing 'something' in the bedroom...it was like a strip of white mist that went across the room and I still dont know whether my ex partner was agreeing she saw it to freak me out, or whether she actually did see it. From then on, I felt really unsettled and sold the ouija board before moving into my new house.

I still dont know whether this was paranormal or psychological, but it would be interesting to hear others experiences and whether the are sceptic etc

BS

I had to bump this thread as I was reading about one on Facebook. So many people freaked out by it and saying never do it, and the other half basically saying its poppycock.

Anyone have any stories to add?

Not Ouija boards based but Mrs Moon (it's not why my username is moon) is a professional medium/Tarot reader, I do some admin and drive/set up her table shows etc but am a definite non-believer. However, that doesn't mean I don't respect what she does.

That being said I was downstairs alone a couple of months after my Mother had passed and had the smell of dark chocolate waft under my nose (Mum loved dark chocolate)....we never have any in the house as we don't like it, this happened twice in the space of a week or so while my wife was working upstairs in her office.

Can't give a reasonable explanation for this and therefore, did spook me for a little while.

Wowsers - events a non-believer have you not been tempted to allow Mrs Moon to practice on you?

I'm on the fence. I don't believe in ghosts/the paranormal in the sense of headless blokes riding horses or floaty sheets with black eyes, but I do believe in negative energy and atmosphere. My sister had a ground floor flat in Whalley Range and it had what I can only describe as an oppressive atmosphere. They felt it too, and I haven't been anywhere since that has made me feel the same sense of dread.

I spent a year living, at one stage alone, in the downstairs converted flat of an 18th century boarding school.

It was a huge flat but not particularly nice.

The living room was the old gymnasium, which was very small for a school gym but huge for a living room.

It was dated and the roof still had the original circular rings on for the gym equipment to attach, which had been there since very early in the building’s life.

The place was dead silent at night and cold, you couldn’t hear anything from the road at all.

Essentially, if anything was haunted it was this place and I didn’t hear nor see anything in over a year there.

Dont get it. Some of you folks, believe in ghosts but dont believe in god. Its the same no? What proof is there for Ghosts? anything? or is it the mind is playing tricks. who knows...

That is a rather dissapointing ending. I was expecting a story of headless horseman and pictures flying across the room.....
