Our best 11 right now?

I think it is to difficult to pick our best 11, because we have a fantastic squad. Also Pep will pick teams dependent upon the opposition, and the way they play, or expected to play. I think the days of a first 11 is flawed. What you can pick are the players in form, but then you have to look at recent injuries, and game time. With the amount of games you need a good squad, who are all capable, we play twice a week, and we compete in every competition, not like some clubs, The days of a best 11 are gone.

See some leaving KDB out because recent form!

100% KDB will be in Peps best team pick.
The thread is asking about our most in form 11.Not our perceived best 11.

But some of us are also asking,as incredible as Kev is,do we operate better,as a team, without him?

We dont have a best 11 anymore , it is interchangable team depending on the game , you have to get your head round that , also rotation and not being dropped

Look at it like this, if we were playing in the Champs League final tomorrow what team would you like to see?

Eddy
Cancello
Walker
Stones
Diaz
Gundo
Bernardo
Rodri
Foden
KDB
Sterling

That's a back 3 really, with Cancello given lots of freedom to drop back into or 4, or as far forward as he wants.
V difficult to leave Zinchenko out, but this line up lets Cancello float freely, which strengthens us massively. Aguero's lack of form and fitness simplifies the rest of the selection - the best are all there to chase down, dribble and absolutely murder all-comers.

What a great time to be a blue.

It's hard on Zin but Walker Dias and Stones makes for a great back three. Walker's pace is such a plus for that formation. So using Cancelo at LB is probably our strongest defensive set-up.

A back three of Stones Dias & Ake could work well with Cancelo at RB.

But best XI is a point to debate but really it is about using the squad and picking the most suitable XI to face each opponent that comes along.

Kev was our star man according to whoscored.com yesterday. That may show the shortcomings of stats based assessment but they are often still more reliable and objective than supporters' eyesight.
