Our Finishing...

This is what makes Kane the most effective striker in the league, he doesn't dally on the ball and if in a good position within 25 yards he'll rarely look for the pass he just makes space and gets a shot away, he doesn't have the best conversion rate but he shoots so often he outscores everyone anyway
Does that make him the most effective striker though, if you add assists he has 22 plus 1 assist, where Sergio who now looks for a pass more has 17 plus 5 assists from about 350 less minutes. Not sure you would say one was more effective than the other, where Kane is the focal point of their attack ours is spread more between the front 3, Sterling, Sane and Jesus contribute more than Spurs other attacking players.

Some good stats and points you make there. Kane is widely regarded as the best in the world by our London based media.

Granted, if we'd converted some more of the chances we'd created we would have beaten Everton, Palace, Liverpool and Burnley. We would have another 9 points in the bag, and the League would be pretty much sewn up already bar the shouting.

Whilst that is frustrating, we are still 13 goals ahead of any other team in the league, and our goals are coming from all over the place. You only have to go back as far as 2006/7 when we scored just 29 goals, and Joey Barton was our leading scorer. We are living in dream world compared to those days.

Not sure about including Liverpool, we lost because of a mad 10 minutes conceding 3.

Sterling
David Silva
Bernardo
Gundogan
All absolute brilliant players. All have amazing attributes that have helped us achieve what we have so far.
But all of them have pretty poor finishing skills.

Aguero
Jesus
Sane
KDB
These 4 are our best finishers and at the moment 2 are missing. It really does hinder us.
Sane is a huge miss.

The reason we went for Mahrez and Sanchez is because they can finish and create something out of nothing. If Sanchez played for us against Burnley we would have won that.
It’s like when Arsenal beat Palace 2-3 at Xmas it was because of Sanchez. We then drew 0-0 with them as we piss too many chances up the wall.

Beating Arsenal in the final is gonna be a tough ask.
Unless Aguero decides to have a fantastic game we will struggle as we will always concede at least 1.

In the summer we do need that extra finisher who also has the intricate skills and work rate needed to fit in our team. We don’t need anymore Berardo/David Silva types. We have enough of those and they’re the best. We need a finisher who can rotate with Sterling and Sane. So signing Mahrez I feel is a good idea and I hope it comes off.

If you want to be the very best then you just take Hazard or Salah.
We don't know that Salah won't be a one off wonder.

Even though we've scored over 100 goals this season. We are still behind the amount of goals that the team scored in Manuel Pellegrini's 1st season in charge.
Maybe just maybe the players are just take that split second longer to have a shot, and the chance is wasted. It has become obvious that teams are now defending a lot deeper than normal, and it is thus becoming harder to score the goals needed to win matches. So why doesn't pep encourage shooting from outside of the box. It also hasn't helped that the ref's are not getting the decisions right when the oppostition have committed fouls and the player should have been sent off, and only gets a booking or not even that.

I think it cvomes down to what you're thinking when you get the chance. The best strikers think where in the goal am I going to put it, others think "am I going to score". Mindset thing, across the team, except KDB and Silva. Shots on goals though remains high. Would love to know our xG against goals scored for this year
