Our glaring weakness at LB, will it be fixed?

Lets hope Pep brings Alaba. Possibly the best LB in the world, but also plays CB, CM, DM, probably could do a job pretty much anywhere.

In time Kolarov and Clichy will get the credit they both fully deserve. Both still capable but Kolarov's crossing has not been as good this season. Whatever happens we should be moving for a naturally left-sided, quick player in this transfer window. Doesn't have to be an established 'world-class' player, just someone with a heart who can give us some much needed pace and balance

I think at the end of this season Clichy, Zabaleta and Sagna only have one year left, Kolarov two.

I reckon we will go for at least one full back, most likely a left back as that has been our weakest area of defence for a quite a while now.

Van Aanholt would be a very good addition to our side.

He's rapid, can defend and is a goal scoring left back. He'd be a huge upgrade on Clichy and attainable IMO

I pointed this out a few weeks ago and was laughed at. He is not great at defending, but a better version of Kolarov.

Alaba would be a crazy fee. Easily more than 60 million. But that is the price for the best left back in the world with 10 years ahead of him. I say pay it if we can. If not it is Gaya, Willems, and Rodriguez assuming we want to go relatively young. One of those paired with Clichy (for homegrown reason) for a year or two and then bring Angelino in.

Kurzawa and Sandro belong in the same conversation but I doubt we would pay the kind of money to get them (or at least we shouldn't).

RB is far more difficult IMO. Not a lot of talent out there...I hope Maffeo is the real deal.

Even though it is about LB this thread I just wanted to pitch in about an RB. So far I've only heard good things about Kevin Tete of Ajax. I haven't Seen him Play yet but I am looking forward to it.

I would be surprised if we only brought one fullback in - going into next season with Zabba and Sagna as our only RBs would be a bad move IMO

What's the young Leicester City left back, "Ben Chilwell" like, anyone know?

He's 19 year old has represented England at u18s u19s and u20s. Got their academy player of the year 2014/15. Apparently Arsenal sniffing around for £5m. His contract expires in June 2016 and he's not renewing.

He's already said he won't be taking any Bayern players!

Also, everytime I see this thread title I cringe. We have two of the most solid full backs in the league. It's simply spoilt, arrogant and deluded to say it's our 'glaring weakness'
No it isn't, its fact,as rival managers have made reference when explaining their tactics for playing against us.Both our left backs are average at best, either would suffice as a back up to a quality addition.

Yep just the usual negative boo boys and haters. I really would suggest not giving a rat ass what they think. The day their opinion matters is the day when rival managers would all give honest tactical plans to the media lmao
