outpricing and moving longterm season ticket holders

You don't need thousands of individuals to buy, just large companies who will invite the individuals. It works in all other forms of business.

most businesses build on keeping existing customers happy and that helps to generate new business.

I would like to see the list of companies that are queueing up to buy these seats.

Not really utilities, phones tv, deals are always better for new customers, existing customers get offered little incentive the companies just hope for lethargy or customer loyalty. But don't you think the club will have done some research into what corporate business is out there ? Plus deals with global companies like Nissan, Etihad will bring some corporate custom.

In Manchester, we're currently at the dawn of a new era, where we'll become a super City/Region.
We're getting a mayor, the Airport is expanding, Metrolink is expanding, AIG and putting millions into improving the University, HS2 - this is whilst the average property price is roughly half when compared to London.

As a City we're becoming incredibly attractive to international businesses looking to move into the EU, along side major British businesses like the BBC relocating here.

When you think about the potential in Manchester, it would be ludicrous to ignore the influx of corporate people to the area. I doubt we'll ever be on a par with London, because they have the tourism industry as well, but we won't be far off.

As I've said before, ive accepted that I, and most others on level 2, will have to move next season. That won't stop me going but it doesn't, in my opinion, make it right. The proof of the pudding will come in the eating and if in the next few seasons level 2 is full of people on corporate freebies lapping up the hospitality that some large corporation has paid handsomely for then I will accept it is a price worth paying. If on the other hand it is half empty then whether it's been paid for or not it'll be a poor decision for the fans if not for the clubs finances.

Not half full then.

The thing that attracted me to watching City was that I really enjoyed the match day atmosphere.

But as the premier league becomes more and more geared towards more affluent, older fans that atmosphere has largely vanished.

It is now force of habit which keeps me buying a season ticket, but with the price increases, ever greater commercialisation, the sanitisation of the game into a virtual non-contact sport and the lack of any local feel to the club I'll probably give up soon.

Obviously the football at City is better than it ever was, but I do miss the old match day experience.

That isn't a problem for many current fans because they weren't there in those days, and not because they were too young either.

League 1 and 2 are still good for great match days.

I think one of the selling points for corporate is big games but also big game atmosphere, if you like us 'normal' fans are part of the entertainment. Also companies like to take clients to otherwise hard to get to events. Thats why I have confidence in the club working with 1894 to do their best to try and create the conditions for a better atmosphere. Isn't it today 1894 meet the club to discuss regrouping the singers.

I think a lot of the level 2 seats going forward will just be available on a match by match basis rather than all ST.

Match ticket, padded seat, access to bar with pay food. The entry level to corporate.

We have enough visitors/casual fans now who will be happy to pay £80/£100 for that experience for the games against the likes of Hull and Villa

For the games against Rags/Liverpool/Chelsea/Arsenal, I expect they could easily charge £150/£200 for this. Businesses would snap them up.

I expect they want £2k a year from these seats rather than the £750 they currently get, Increase in revenue of £5m plus a year

6000 more seats in SS selling at an average of £500 is another £3m if we do NS extension then another £3m.

Whilst I would rather not be moved, I see it as a way of me paying a bit less going forward and getting first choice of the new stand will certainly help.

Regrouping the singers won't address the fundamental problem with regards to atmosphere - the fact that crowds now are much older and middle class than they used to be.

And as long as watching premier league football is quite expensive that's the way it'll stay.

It is the older middle class fans that used to create the atmosphere when we were skint. It's the general apathy of younger fans that is the problem.
