outpricing and moving longterm season ticket holders

I've sat on each level of the ground. I know what the view is like and there are plenty where I just can't see well enough.

Level 1 I'd need to be at the back, level 3 I'd need to be at the front.

Level 2 was perfect for me, and my money was perfect for the club when we were shit and skint.

I hope thats taken into consideration when people are moved out.

If the seats not right for me I won't buy it. If that makes me disloyal I couldnt give a shit.

Totally reasonable. The club have to give any relocaters the option of equivalent seats.

I'm in block 204 and have been since we moved from maine road. I go with my "kids" father in law and a friend. Five of us next to each other. Father in law has had his ticket for over 50 years. I've had mine 30+ years I'm currently paying £2410 a season.... thats for me , my son at Uni and for my daughter who is working in London (temporary basis). I pay their rail travel as anyone who knows when you've graduated on starting salaries with rent costs etc leaves little left over. So thats another say £1500 a year so the best part of £4000! yes I've enjoyed corporate hospitality at the club from industry colleagues. Nice as it is with food drink etc but chatting to guys who arent city fans but rather are "up from London for the day" it doesn't beat being in your own seat!

Moved for the Champ league ok fair enough but now moved again and scattered all over the ground miles apart from each other. yes we know block 204 will become corporate seats but if the way the club treats us is the same as for the champ league then you know what...my loyalty to the club wont change but I wont go anymore........ I can be loyal without being taken for a ride.

There has to be a mechanism in place where in advance you can specify who you want to sit next to and no of seats together you are ideally looking for. It may well be the case that some seats are in front of each other which would be acceptable. Now heres why... Lets say two people are moved to a couple of seats that by chance happen to be next to each other. They don't know each other but it stops say two mates, father and son etc from being next to each other.

Change happens and we accept that. I think we want a mechanism where some of the most loyal fans are rewarded for supporting the club when 1000's of other walked away or didn't come.

I think there should be a league table (points for all intents and purposes) where fans rank in a hierarchy...
However, it shouldn't be boosted by the purchase prices over the years, because I don't really believe someone who can afford a great seat is necessarily any more loyal than someone who can't. That said, I'm sure some will feel that if they've spent more with the club, they deserve more priority.

The 'ranking' should allow for someone who's supported for many years, and can no longer afford a season ticket (or just needs to take a break, for whatever reason) to slowly slip down the rankings. Someone shouldn't fall to the back of the queue because they lose their job and can't afford this year's season ticket, they should be be able to get back on the bus relatively quickly having been high ranking and slowly slipping down.

It's a decent system (in my view) and doesn't unduly punish anybody who can't afford a ticket for a while. Of course, the longer they go without, the more they'll start to slip down the rankings, and conversely, the longer someone's waited the higher up the rankings they will get.

i know lots of Liverpool fans never stand of a chance of getting tickets because people share a season ticket, or they 'lease' it to a mate for a period of time. I'm not sure that's ideal, but I can understand why they do that - because they dare not give up their season ticket as they'll never get it back.

With a properly administered ranking system, they'd not have to be so worried about never getting it back.

There were ten thousand empty seats at Anfield for some games under Roy Hodgson so I wouldn't fall for the Scouser's claims!

We have a loyalty points system that works pretty well. The Club could give longstanding fans a discount on the new East and West stand level 2 prices according to their loyalty points e.g. More than 5,000 = 10 percent off, 10,000 points = 20 percent off etc.

You are describing exactly the loyalty point system. I had a couple of years off being a season ticket holder about 6 or 7 years ago and just picked up my points where I left off when I came back.

It was the old 1st/2nd/3rd/4th/5th year/Regular season ticket system which sent people to the back of the queue.

The turning of level. 2 into premium seating has been on the cards for a few years now and I thought it was general knowledge , those who currently sit there must have noticed the comfy seats going in..
From what I understand those who decide to stay ( and I'm guessing the club hope lots will as I can't see where else they will pick up 3/4k fans to fill this section week in week out ) will get a special bar area along with there comfy seats..
This is not forcing people out of the ground , it is upping the revenue streams to help us keep to the standards of football we gave got used too, and also it is giving them a better option if they can afford it or, if not don't they get 1st dibs on relocation to cheeper seats or seats that are priced to there requirements ...
Reminded me of the house sitting in the Middle of the (M62??) with the motorway each side of if springs to mined... Can't stop progress and improvements ,,

Club can't offer identical seating as there are no identical seating but you will get 1st dibs on availability ,,, we could always just stand still to keep everybody happy... But I think rather then stand still we would start to go backward ..

Level 2 along the lines are probably the best seats in the house and it's only natural business sense to improve this area and sell it at its true value in line with what's available .. All the club is asking is that you pay the going rate if these seats and perks or relocate to something within the budget you have ....
Not a bad compromise to watch the quality of football we have ,..
I'd personally see it as not a bad exchange for what we are offered and if i could afford it I'd sit there , if not I'd happy sit within my budget and enjoy the rise..

Apparantly thats an Urban myth .. they interviewed the new owner on Yorkshire tv and he stated that it was down to the geology at that location not that the previous owner (Ken wild ) was being obstructive .. there was a guy further along the motorway who did all that was possible to slow down the building of it though ,not sure if thats were the confusion arises
Back on topic, I can understand what the club is up to .. we seem quite far behind in terms of match day revenue on certain clubs and as long as they do it painlessly as possible to the fans it should be ok

At least these ticket holders are getting notice of being moved
when we got moved last year (when I say we I mean back row of the south stand and the seats at the front) we only got notice after the renweal process started so we had no time to protest or moan about it
we are also hoping we get 1st refusal of seats in the south stand
But the emails of danny wilson never go as far as confirming this
but why should they we had only been in our seats since the stadium opened and similar seats in the north stand at maine road before that

Or most current season ticket holders leave ES and CB Level 2 at the same time and the Club has a headache with lots of empty corporate seats. I have no big problem with the East Stand becoming corporate (and I'm in 206) when the demand is there - which it isn't at the moment on the scale suggested. Lee do not have the same corporate fan base as the rags or the arse and the club need to realise that.

As for superior bars, all the Club has done so far is halved the space on the concourse behind 206.
