I'm not overseas but as someone who now lives in kent and as we moved 50yrs ago as a 5yr old i dont really have my manc accent anymore seems to come out more after a few beers !. People in kent say i have a slight manc twang and when i come 'home' i get called a cockney even though i'm about 60 miles from london.
It does worry me abit that my lads could get called glory hunters now but my lads are quick to say that their dad, granddad, great granddad are all from Manchester and are City we have blue blood !.
If some people call me and my lads glory hunters so be it , we know we arent and i did ask my wife if we could drive the 300 miles to Manchester we she was in labour, it didnt go down well ! !
In all the games we have been to we have never had anyone say any thing about our accents, in fact when the lads were young fans around us woukd ask were abouts are you from and what time did you leave etc etc[/quote
good point. As a third gen blue living in the soft underbelly of the south having been dragged down as a kid i now have adult kids who are mad blues and their kids ( whenever) will be 5th generation blues whose forefathers went to Hyde road.
This make them any more or any less of a blue? Or just a part of our wonderful blue family? I choose the latter.
