Owning a nice watch

I bought a semi-decent watch after I did a well paid piece of work overseas.
It serves as a reminder that I should get personal rewards for myself and not just spend the cash on wine, women and song, or waste it.

Exactly the same thing I did after having spent three months working in Korea and Taiwan, picked up an Omega Speedmaster Pro, brings back memories every-time I wear it, however it’s going away for a major service which will cost a decent amount but the satisfaction it gives me is beyond measure.

Well I wouldn't call the latter wasting it, you are creating great memories and having lots of fun. To be fair whatever people send their money on is their business and if watches and jewelry make them happy why not? I bought a Seiko world timer watch in Singapore for £40 in 1981. The battery ran out and it has sat in a draw for decades now. I have no idea if it's worth anything but when I bought it I felt the dogs bollocks lol.
Singapore eh...
Was the guy on a street corner ?

Played golf a few years ago in Portugal on the last day of holiday. Rented clubs. Took Tag watch off part way round as it was annoying me as it was so hot and put it in the golf bag.

That sinking feeling when on the plane home...

Down to a Tag Carrera and Omega Seamaster now and love them both.

I've had £8 Seikos for years. Tells perfect time, lights up, alarm and stop watch - all l need in a watch. If l lose it Amazon will provide another the next day. But the missus thinks a professional should have something fancy.com
When l saw the vet was wearing one l told him that the old girl said and he sang it's praises and added that he had to stick him arm up cows' arses so it didn't matter if he lost one up there.
So all the more reason for another £8 wonder when the time comes,;).

i cant afford a "nice watch" wouldnt get alot of use out of it anyway, couldn't wear it for work(airport worker) or hobbying(fishing) .

i've got a G-shock, looks ok tells the time , is as tough as fuck and water proof, don't get me wrong i would love a top watch but sadly cant afford one,

if anyone who has a couple of splendid watches would like to donate one i swear i would cherish it :)
