Owning a nice watch

Is there a level below the Rolex's etc?

I'd love to dip into a nice watch. I own an Armani one and a Boss one, but would like a more expensive one to wear on nice occasions.

Are Steinhart any good? I want one that people know is quite expensive... I mean why else?
Omega, arguably. Panerai too. Very much about taste, of course. They are mainly all mass-produced, Rolex included. Damn reliable pieces though. Depends on your budget. Happy to suggest.

That's a great price mate snap it up I just had a look at the going rate for a pre owned one and they start around £400 upwards, let us know if you get itt, very nice looking watch by the way
I schlepped over to the Oxfam shop it was in at lunch and gave it a good inspect.
No damage, all working (though can't be 100% on the internals).
I guess a battery change will be needed at some stage.
Lass who worked there agreed that it looked like it was barely worn.

Receipt and manual and box all in (purchased 2017).
Not bad for £150 and it's my preferred style.
It's here on Chrono24 for £700+

Will pack it away till my birthday at the weekend.
Not the best photo but you get the gist (you can see the knitted Oxfam hummus socks in the background)....

That's really nice mate

Always wanted a smart one,Any recommendations? Would you buy new or are second hand ones with a service behind them the way to go.
Apple Watch? Pricy - but I've been very happy with every Apple product I've purchased (iPhone, Apple TV, Airpods Max). I've not yet purchased an Apple Watch tough - I'm hoping that battery life will improve in the next generation.

Longines make some nice watches. Good quality and are a well know make for when someone asks you about your watch.

I've had an Omega Seamaster for years. Proper divers watch, athough I haven't been diving any further than the bath in the 10 years I've had it. Went to Egypt this summer and dived for the first time in nearly 20 years. Came back up to find my watch had let water in, and it turns out I hadn't pressed the dial in properly. I couldn't get it looked at for two weeks until I got back home, at which point inside had rusted.

Now I've had to pay £350 and send it away for 15 weeks. One of the world's most famous diving watches and I totally fucked it up first time underwater.
Got a Seamaster for my 50th 12 years ago and wear it everyday -absolutely love it - was in New York back in September and talked myself into buying one of those Omega/Swatch Moon watches - dont know why - just cant warm to it and it has sat in the box ever since

Possibly get laughed off the thread.. but I got this with Xmas money, Ingersoll Herald. It's very nice.

I'm really into watches. Our collection, which I shared on a Reddit thread.

Shaky camera work mate! ;-))

Just joking, seriously very envious, especially the Rolex, the Explorer 2? and the green Sub. Very nice sir!
