Looking at some advice on how to get myself on a Rolex waiting list from an AD ?

Little chance of getting on on any AD waiting list so grey market is where it's at for Rolex. I'll stick to Seiko, don't have to worry about having a Rolex taken off my wrist...

I have a Citizen Eco-Dive Skyhawk that's not worked or been worn in nearly 20 years if anyone's keen?


Also got a Tissot T-Touch Expert that again hasn't been worn for a while but thinking of getting it going again as it's a nice watch and has sentimental value so not getting rid.

Anyone got any advice as to where? Online or...? I tried a few local jewellers in Huddersfield a few years ago but they didn't seem to want to touch it (the watch), which put me off, so any advice appreciated. Might need a service or just battery?

I have a few different Eco drive's, lovely hassle free watches usually! As previously stated, do try leaving it on a windowsill for a couple of days to recharge, hopefully that'll be enough.

If that doesn't work, it's possible the capacitor which stores charge and powers the watch will need replacing. It might not be economic to repair!

The retail price on that particular model has gone through the roof. Bought mine 10 years ago at 5 grand, now selling at double that.

Does anybody know any good watch repairers in Manchester? I have a Glycine automatic that's about 50 years old and I'm struggling to find a repairer to fix it. It's not an expensive watch but belonged to my father so I'd like to get it working.
One repairer had a look and managed to get it going after replacing a couple of parts but it only lasted a couple of months and he's now retired.

I would recommend Swiss Watch Repairs on St Anne's arcade, sell and repair a variety of high end Swiss watches. I have used them for watch repairs, excellent workmanship donein about 2 weeks. The catch is it'll cost £400! As ever it's about balancing what the watch means on a personal level to whether it's sensible to repair it.

There is another watch booth type place on the first floor of the Arndale near the Market who don't do in house repairs but send to the manufacturer repair/service centre, so will cost just as much and take 6/8 weeks. Good luck!

Well my I-phone tells me the right time 24/7 and my £130 quid wristwatch that I bought from the City store at The Etihad just before Covid normally mirrors the I-phone so I’m happy with that. I’m not materialistic in any way and I don’t move in circles where folk know the time of day with expensive time pieces and designer gear so I’d rather have 10 grand in my bank account than on my wrist especially as lots of ‘expensive’ watches are actually fakes.

Looks nice but not into weaving cloth or tapestry so will give it a miss.

I just bought a Samsung 5 44mm smartwatch. It's the most I've ever paid for a watch $369 (£207) I must say I'm dead impressed. I think my days of conventional watches are over.

You’re not kidding. I paid £2700 in 2007 for mine. Good investment.

I sold my rolex and bought this as a replacement. It's never off my wrist.
