Alas Mr Barclay even having to appologise for such badly judged viewpoints as you had raises questions.

Basically i doubt he will be chief sports writer at the telegraph anytime soon, the enquirer ? now that is an avenue you should explore Patrick.

Paddy Barclay is Slur's official hagiogropher so is unlikely to say too much to offend the guru of mind games. Logically, not long left at the helm over at the swamp so surely another tome is in the offing. Would any journalist in his right mind not want the return gig?

Pretty sure it was an unofficial biography of Ferguson, and there's no love lost between the two.

Regardless, Barclay writing us off in November (whilst unbeaten) was pretty idiotic. Yet another football journalist with little credibility.

Actually Hansen did admit he'd got it wrong about City sometime around the Newcastle game iirc, much as it pains me to defend the turkey-necked fucker.

Slight non-sequitur but had lunch with someone before the Fulham game who lives in Barnes (near where Barclay lives) who's on nodding terms with him and according to this bloke Barclay is a real 'ladies man'. He's always with a different top quality woman every time he sees him out.

I now find it hard to dislike him tbh.

He has certainly looked like a man who's just woken upfrom minor surgery to find that he has had a bollock removed, whenever discussing our club....

He actually wrote an article on it. The reason I remember was that I commented on (and quoted) the article in the following thread:

Can't remember who posted it, but there was an excellent point on here about journos recently.

With the advent of social media, talk radio, wall to wall footie, etc, the print media is being marginalised. Therefore, to sell papers they now have to have these ridiculous slants and anlges on things. If you lose a couple of games it is a "crisis". If a manager is having a tough time they are "under pressure". If they subsequently get sacked then the club "should have given them more time", etc, etc, etc

No point in making sense of it - just pure sensationalist crap in a desperate bid to sell papers, because they are under so much competition from other parts of the media.
