I've read a lot of criticism about Israel's actions, but what realistically would you want them to do when hamas are hiding themselves and rockets in civilian areas and using their own people as human shields. They are already doing everything then can to make sure civilians are out of there by telling them before hand. What more do you actually want them to do?

how do Israel get away with this?
i''m not on either side, personally i'd like to see both countries tore up and placed on opposite sides of the world. but if GB were bombing the hell out of Wales (or chose a more similar situation) NATO etc would be all over it, threatened with sanctions, and eventually millitary action.
why ALWAYS the kid glove approach with Israel?

If Wales were firing hundreds of missiles randomly towards population centres in England, would you expect England to do something about it?

Let's use another analogy. In WW2, the Nazis were firing V1 rockets at London from occupied France. Let's suppose that they set up those launch sites in civilian areas of Paris and other French cities. Would you expect the RAF to bomb those sites knowing that there would probably be civilian casualties? I'd say people would be screaming for action to be taken.

Even by Bluemoon standards, that is one truly bizarre analogy.
The more I read it, the less sense it makes, and I haven't had that experience since BB2 left the forum.

ridiculous analogy, but even if that was the case ... the RAF would have flown in ground soldiers at the thousands and rooted out the Nazi's, totally different kind of warfare...

i think its fair to say, that although we all don't side with Israel in there actions against Palestine, we are struggling to answer Barkers specific question - what should Israel do if Hamas are hiding in civilian territory and sending bombs into Israel ?

Just a wild stab in the dark here, but I'd go for stop bulldozing Arab homes, annexing their land, and doing their own bit of ethnic cleansing by bringing in Jewish settlers, for starters.
As Chomsky recommended years ago.
Because as long as Israel pursue this illegal expansionist policy, they are giving Hamas a raison d'etre.

This is the beginning of the "About Us" section on their website:

This is about as independent as the guy last week how tried to pass off statistics from a research study done by a Jewish college in Canada as in fact statistics given out by Amnesty International.
