You do realize the U.S also funds the Palestinian Authority too, don't you?. The difference is, Israel use their money to improve the lives of their citizens and PA use it for rockets.

Honestly, you really need to call it a day, because inconceivable as it may be to the rest of us, you actually manage to achieve the Hurculean task of looking dafter with every passing post.

Someone mentioned Iron Dome earlier, true it works well, it's impressive tech, but even before it existed deaths from rocket attacks were very very rare. Iron Dome was only deployed in 2011 but in 2009 there were only two Israeli deaths and in 2010 five deaths from rocket attacks. There were actually six deaths in 2012 the year it was brought in. The actual threat posed by these rockets is not great. Their main effect is to terrorise and disrupt the daily lives of Israelis. Morally wrong and strategically stupid. I suspect it's brought about merely by a sense of having to hit the enemy at any cost simply to feel like they are repaying even a tiny scintilla of the pain the Palestinians go through. Reading as much about the Second World War as I've done, living in a war zone seems to do that to you, the logic goes out the window and even if it brings you no nearer to victory, and is a waste of time and resources, you need to feel like you are hurting the people who are hurting you, even if it's a tiny pinprick they'll barely feel. Unfortunately, it's the same on the Israeli side. Israel doesn't need to bomb the Palestinians, and the fact that they're in the wrong in occupying the Palestinians doesn't matter. However, as I say, logic fucks off, and the need to score some hurt on the enemy takes hold. The likes of Netanyahu are all too ready to do it as well on behalf of those within range of the rockets.
