A mistake that shouldn't have happened as management should have known the rules, so slightly disappointing but should take nothing away from what actually happened on the pitch.

The papers will always focus on the aspect which will give them the most drama, so that's just life - most people know to ignore the cretins that write articles which focus 99% on this and detracts from what we actually achieved, which is to beat the current champions of Europe on their own patch.

And to be honest, I'd rather bring on the teams like Real Madrid/Barcelona/PSG etc etc. Realistically, we aren't going to win the CL (this year) so I'd rather face up to one of the biggest clubs in Europe now and just enjoy the challenge, instead of the possibility of going out at the next stage anyway against a "lesser" team. Bring it on!

I dont understand the "we arent going to win the CL (this year)". On our day with the right motivation and organisation we could beat anyone. To win the competion you usually need a bit of luck. Look at the Chelsea side that won!
I think any side will fear playing us.
However our passage through such a competitive cup competition would be considerably easier playing second place teams than group winners. Also playing group winners such as Barca, RM, and PSG will create a bigger PL distraction than say Olympiakos!

Beat whoever we play in the next round and who gives a fuck whether we rolled the dice or not. But we beat Bayern away from home, their third loss all year and first dropped points in 11 games in the champions league. Surely that deserves a few headlines of its own.

The fact we havent had those headlines says a lot about the state of the press here. We didnt make ourselves look like tits. We won, we're still in the comp, we can still win the comp. Thats whats important, the other stuff is nothing more than an amusing footnote.

So it seems Sky are just as fucking clueless.

Me? Well I don't give a fuck as we beat Bayern in their backyard with, ostensibly, our second string.

What a result and the more they focus on that "extra goal to top the group debacle" bullshit, the more it reaffirms to me that they are scared to fucking death of us and we've got right under their collective skin.
