Paradise Papers Leak

Up here in the land of selective rage, Mrs Browns Boys is being called out to be scrapped. Fair enough, but let's make sure justice is consistent.

If it is axed I will assume the Queen will step down, Hamilton will get a job in Kwikfit and all other organisations will be sent a bill they evaded.

Tax evasion is crippling the country and until we have politicians who have the balls to set about this issue, it will continue.

Selective justice is not justice.
MBB should be scrapped because it's absolute sh1te

Why do these threads end up looking like rags arguing with scousers over who is the most holy?
The left vs. right jibes, Labour vs. Tory are fucking boring childish point scoring bollocks.
Divide and conquer is the oldest trick in the book and it’s alive and well.

Except for most food which is VAT exempt, utilities which are taxed at 5% and a long list of other items.

Basically most essentials are VAT exempt or incur a reduced rate so the poorest in society pay very little in taxes unless they consume a lot of non-essentials.

In fact, only the top 40% of earners are net contributors to government coffers. The bottom 60% tend to get more back in credits and benefits than they contribute.

But but but they want more, no fair

The Queen pays taxes on her income despite being exempt from doing so. And the guardian? Avoided tax for the last 80 odd years - any comment?
The queen is head of state just because of some old draconian laws made by one of her ancesters she was made exempt probably around the same time that they were chopping heads off people they disliked. A for the Guardian as I have said to SWP

The reason for the trust was to avoid the death penalty tax which would have closed the paper down. But as I said I disagree entirely with the avoidance of tax its morally not legally wrong. However the Guardian does a lot things for the greater good like exposing the Panama Papers, Victorian style working at Sports Direct, MP’s sex scandal, Glenfell, and Snowden but to name a few. Things that the predominantly right wing press in our country won’t touch or even mention. So in that respect it becomes a means to an ends without papers like the Guardian we would be left with what the Independent .

Well said and off topic has become a battleground of late.

OK Then. So it's OK to avoid tax as long as it's for the greater good. So it's OK for Microsoft to avoid tax as Bill Gates gives billions away to charity.
