Dominated the game, but looked pretty toothless up front. To be fair, they were amazing in defence. None of Mahrez, Sterling, Grealish, De Bruyne or Bernardo could be said to have had a particularly good game.

Thought they played us. Had our number second half and we didn’t look like troubling them.Am I the only one, who thought we were the better team, and deserved at least a point, if not all 3.
1-1 at half time would have made all the difference.

One of those games we knew the result by looking at the lineups.
Can’t fault the team for not having a natural 9 in the squad — that’s other people’s fault.
I think it’s more likely than not that they will finish first in the group. That means playing second legs at home and draw advantage.

We’ve wasted far too many chances yet again that’s cost us.
Just think next season after we’ve enquired about 10 different strikers, then been linked with a few more, we might actually get a striker.
Probably after we’ve bought another midfielder.

We played well and were by far the better team but it was a cruel lesson in the danger of not taking your chances against a very clinical team.
Few thoughts on that:
1. we will beat this lot easily if we play them over two legs when the chips are down. We weren’t giving it 100% and had them pinned in their half for most of the game.
2. messi at the moment looks like a bullet dodged. Never seen him as quiet in a game despite the goal.
3. if we sign Haaland we will be unstoppable and will win games like this no bother

The result doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things but it does show an insight in what we all knew deep down once we get to the latter stages of the competition, we can’t afford to have 10 chances to score one or not at all. We need a goalscorer asap.
