Paris Saint-Germain (A) - CL | Post-Match Thread

No, I can't say I do remember that one. (I remember his similar goal against RM but that's another story) But you're over-simplifying. I am not saying *necessarily* or automatically that the team which scores the most goals is the best side. Merely that it's not an irrelevance. Our general standard of play was better than theirs (probably, although the defended pretty well I thought) but they scored and we didn't.

Perhaps the acid test (thought experiment) is, if that game was replayed again 10 times in a parallel universe, what would be the outcome. If a side is genuinely better, then you'd expect that side to win the game more times than not. Do you think we would? I think if we replayed that game, with those players, playing as we did, we'd lose it more times than not. Of course we will never know and your opinion may differ. And to be clear, I am not saying we are "broken" - clearly we are a very, very, very good side. I just wish we'd take our bloody chances!!!
So you think we would lose that game more often than win it? You think a team that only created 3 shots on target would consistently be that clinical? They defended very well and still with that we missed an open net and their keeper had to make a few good saves. Better finishing and not missing open nets would mean we win that game more often than not.

It's hard to find positives when you lose but I hope the players will use the defeat as a motivation for the Liverpool game. We need at least a draw.

Sure if we had better finishing we'd win it. But I reckon we'd have crap finishing again if we replayed it. We've been woeful in front of goal for god knows how long. Sterling has the goal-scoring instinct of a potato.

Obviously it would have been more preferable to win in terms of last night’s match, but I feel that result last night is a better result in terms of making the group games mean a bit more now. I’m looking forward to the Brugge games as there’s s but more on them now. And, as long as we get the results we need again at Brugge, I’m really looking forward to the return fixture against Paris! Makes that return game a proper big game, should shake the crowd up a bit and set the game up to be a cracker the fans and the players really want to win.

If we’d won last night, then beaten Brugge home and away, it would make that Paris game a “can afford not to win” game and would put people off going.

PSG’s approach seemed to be moan like fuck, defend, win ball back and hoof it forward. Pretty much like the red dippers really.

Was an enjoyable game aside from the ref being a complete bellend, but I’m not all that arsed by the result.
They are a very good team and will be near as he final if not winners cone may so it was not all that bad was it . Sterling was sterling even though he didn’t do too bad in the first half but we do miss a striker and we will not win this cup without one .

out of the 3 games, this 1 is the 1 i didnt mind losing we can still go throu and win the next 4 games we will be top, beating chelsea and hopefully beat pool thats whats matter show them we mean to defend our cup
