Paris Saint-Germain (A) - CL | Post-Match Thread

I guess its a bit like last PL season when, after about 6-8 games, no fuckin way in a million years will we get top four without a striker, I just am in awe of your optimism.
Did I say premier league or champions league ?

How can you say "beside the goal" with a straight face?

Goals win games.
You just did. We were miles the better team having scored nil goals.

We were miles the better team.

However, as we know all too well, that doesn't mean a great deal in the CL.

The simple fact is, you cannot have that many chances and not take any of them. Not a single one.

Look at them. They had 2 moments and scored from both of them. The way they were cut throat with both chances was what this competition is about.

There needs to be that ruthlessness.

Without it, we will be the prettiest girl on the dance floor but will be going home without a shag. Again.

It's not the Lyon game, he had a run in with the manager after the home derby loss last season and Sterling saw his arse.

Sterling has been mediocre, however, for more than a year. He's mentally checked out and even Southgate has hinted at issues with City.

Keeps harping on how England somehow get him more and he feels more relaxed because he trusts him.

It smacks of Sane again, on and off the field.

And because of a clear issue with Sterling on and off the field, with our desire to secure a new contract, Pep apologises by starting him in the CL final. That, for me, was a clear attempt to show how much he is valued and try to get pen on paper.

If Ferny had have played instead, as per the team that beat PSG home and away in the semi the result could have gone our way.

Perhaps I am overthinking it and Pep just wanted more control of the ball and more movement, but it was so odd that he started despite showing no form in the preceding months.

He doesn't create chances, doesn't beat his man very often and generally misses any chance he gets. His movement is fantastic but rarely do we play to it because of our style. Playing off a target man like Kane suits him but having to do the work himself doesn't. Arteta was mentioned as being a direct influence on his upturn in form for City and since his departure he's reverted to type.

It seems that Raheem lost it. He should not be first choice, surely not for big games. What a pity, he was one of the best two years ago, and should have been better by now. What on earth is going in his mind? Why he cannot recover his form?

I was temporarily banned last summer for saying that we could cash in and improve on him. There’s a mafia on here that block any criticism. Becoming harder and harder now having been so poor for so long. Without his goal contributions there’s little to justify him playing

He has been poor for over 18 months now. He isn’t in our best eleven and shouldn’t be considered for the big games.
