What you havent mentioned here is that Liverpool and Chelsea failed to qualify for the champions league in the years that they won the Europa (unless you mean the Chelsea 2013 win after which they broke the team up and won nothing for a couple of years) Us dropping down from the CL to the Europa is a completely different scenario. Thursday night football is to be avoided.

I understand the gateway to a Europa League trophy but I think we should continue our progress in the Chumps League as a side to be reckoned with each season.

its a testimony to the owners , the supporters , the players and past and present managers and support staff that we have the recent longest continual run in the competition missing out on the knockout stage only once without Europa league games to play notwithstanding the two paths to qualification each season.

this run despite coming up short each season and falling in the final last season cannot be dismissed as something as a given using the money angle as justification as to why it should be a given.

How come other teams manage to beat us without reliable goalscorers getting on the scoresheet?

And imagine finishing 3rd in a group where Club Brugge finish second. Yeah sure it'll do wonders for our confidence.
