How does everyone see our back four selection? I feel like since Walker has become a guaranteed starter, it makes it more difficult to select Stones. Purely because it becomes our left back that has to invert (if we choose to play that way), so Laporte has to play in that situation to provide the balance in a back 3. And Dias is the no-brainer partner for him. The only ways that Stones and Walker can start together are either if Dias doesn’t play or if our left back stays a LB at all times. But that doesn’t really suit Cancelo or Zinchenko imo.

So for me it’s Walker, Dias, Laporte, Cancelo. I thought Cancelo’s performance v Spurs was enough to give him the nod over Zin. I love Stones and Zinchenko but I just feel this is the best balance if we want an inverted LB?

This is the major decision IMO.

Whoever it is will be up against Di Maria who is PSG's biggest creative threat.

I think Zinchenko's higher/narrower midfield position will suit the game better to get to Di Maria early and stop him. He's 33 years old now, if he wants to try and run in behind Zinchenko, let him, he's not got the legs or stamina to do it for 90.

Zinchenko also really helps us keep the ball, and the midfield possession battle vs. Paredes, Gueye and Veratti is going to be huge.
Hard decision for Pep.
Think I'd go with Canchenko..

Liked that press conference. Talked the talk and sounded really relaxed. Accepted they are a good team but didn't big them up anymore than he usually does and sounded confident in us playing our own game and playing our way.

Mahrez sounded the same. Confident and relaxed. That's how we have to be. They've not wowed me PSG. They're definitely a side we can beat, but they will be dangerous on the counter and will cause us problems without a doubt. If we play our usual game and dominate possession we can beat them though. I took a lot from their games with Bayern, where they sucker punched them but had to cling on really.

Dortmund were a challenge but we kept going. Conceded late at home but got the winner. Conceded first in Dortmund but got the equaliser and went on to win comfortably. Foden feels no pressure. Gundogan has been there before, and De Bruyne looks desperate to go and win the CL. We've got so much quality and experience, even if it's not specifically in the CL. But without fans we can play with more freedom and less pressure.

The most vital thing is Pep accepting that we have to stick to our game and not worry too much about the opposition. He's made that mistake 6 or 7 times with Bayern and City. This season he seems to have realised that winning the CL is tough, but changing tactics for a specific opponent makes it even harder. I'm fine with losing because they were the better side. But not if we suddenly play 3 at the back or a completely new system.
