I’ll take some of that dislike of this Partridge back.
Not sure if it caught me in the right mood but I had more than a few lols tonight.
I genuinely wish I could find this guy funny but I just don't get it, for me he comes across as a complete nobhead. As usual a couple of little laughs but generally appalling
The chemsex section was perhaps a poor facsimile of a Day Today sketch(s).Was better that episode, just suffers from a bit of quality Control that chemsex bit was mainly bad.
Drone's OK, might come across as a bit of a twat but in real life he's a good un.I genuinely wish I could find this guy funny but I just don't get it, for me he comes across as a complete nobhead.
Eric Morecambe was once asked what he and Ernie Wise would have been if they hadn’t been comedians.
He replied, “Mike and Bernie Winters,”
That is the entire point.I genuinely wish I could find this guy funny but I just don't get it, for me he comes across as a complete nobhead.
This is the thing with Partridge though, it's the small things to look for, like the fact he set up the chalk markings on the floor at the beginning of that segment to describe his thoughts, then did that ridiculous crouched waddle to the next floor graphic. It's not a sketch show, it's all about what he's doing and how bad he does it. Things like the accidental Jimmy Saville impersonation or the inadvertent nazi salute (although these two things came too close together in the show for me). A lot is repetitive but that is because Coogan will have the ending in place and will have written material to fill it out up to that point, but it needs to take a sort of natural course to it. There needs to be a time when Partridge and the audience think he's comfortable, when actually ...Was better that episode, just suffers from a bit of quality Control that chemsex bit was mainly bad.
Well thank you for explaining the character to me as a huge fan of partridge from the beginning:-)This is the thing with Partridge though, it's the small things to look for, like the fact he set up the chalk markings on the floor at the beginning of that segment to describe his thoughts, then did that ridiculous crouched waddle to the next floor graphic. Personally I think it's the best comedy character on TV since Del Boy, there's a lot going on.
Sorry hilts, I misread your reply as being part of the negative conversation that was going on.Well thank you for explaining the character to me as a huge fan of partridge from the beginning:-)
