How does picking our moments help develop a player, loan him again, but this time to a Brighton type team where he'll get some real experience and some proper game time as opposed to waiting on us to pick a moment like we've just done to kelechi.

He's done everything asked of him & deserves the chance to play for City in thd Premier League. He's in the prime condition & mental situation to do that just as Denayer was.

The whole idea of it being somehow dangerous to give a kid some minutes in the first team, is a myth used as an excuse for clubs who won't do it.

Get him on the pitch, off the bench, see what he's got. If he does well, play him more often.

If he has a few goes & can't make an impact, sell him.

Don't fuck him around, he will never come back. This is the moment where he needs testing.

We have missed that moment with almost all of our best prospects. Just do it. It's not difficult at all.

It's not so much that. It's whether he will become a better player with the odd appearance off the bench for us and the rest of the time playing for the EDS, or playing every week for another team. I'm no coach, but from what I've read, the best thing for a player of his age is to be playing every week against professional players, and the reality is that we probably can't offer him anything more than the odd cameo and cup game.

He's just done two years playing for a trophy winning team & in the Champs League.

Now he should be coached by Pep, tried out & a decision made.

No harm in spending half a season trying to break through then look for a club if he can't.

Scott Sinclair starts for Celtic. Playing well there proves nothing.

In a weird way I agree with both of you. I want to see us give more players a go but we should be loaning them to teams that plau to a high enough standard that it proves they're good enough to be squad players.

We're not going to know if he's good enough if he never plays for us. The best way for him to bed in isn't in a league cup game with loads of other kids but with a strong first team against decent opposition. I'd start him in home games against the likes of West Brom or Swansea but playing alongside Sergio, David, yaya etc.

Assuming Sane, Sterling and Bernardo and the first choices for the wide positions, we still need another. Whilst de Bruyne or Silva could play out there, you lose more than you gain. Jesus could as well, but again, he's better up front rotating with Aguero. Get Sanchez and Roberts is out and Sterling is looking at the bench, but if not, why not give him the chance?

Having decent back up means Sane and Sterling don't need to play 90 minutes every week, which will keep them available for when we do need them. One big mistake of the last couple of seasons has been starting slowly and having to chase games, but if we start like we can, especially at home, the game will be won in an hour, at which point the likes of Roberts and even Foden, Diaz and Sancho if he stays can be given 20-30 minutes with no pressure and the opportunity to prove themselves.

The younger ones may benefit more from a loan to Championship or above, but Roberts is 20, time to give him his chance, just as Sterling, Sane and Jesus were.

How many minutes will he play for City this season ?

Scotland is no test imo, test him in the prem, then bring him into our fold, from what I've seen he doesn't look anywhere near a first team role, I'd be very surprised if he was at city come the start of the season.

I'd give Roberts a chance. Adam Johnson played his part in our title win, chipped in with a few goals and I think chucking Roberts on in some league games could give some opposition something different to think about.
