He was calm and composed. I think his time at Celtic has done wonders in terms of confidence.

He hasn't looked very confident in these first two games. Seemed quite nervous to be honest, especially against United.

No idea what people were watching. He was good v the rags too, in a shit team performance.

His only knock in that game was defending where he looked all over the place on the right side, didn't help Kev was subpar with passing other then a few long balls Roberts managed to get on. Should've had a penalty after being pulled away from the ball from that **** Smalling.

His assist was class but I thought he struggled against the rags. You could tell he was used to more time on the ball. Not sure if the rags thought he was dangerous but he was hounded of the ball every time he got it. I want Roberts to succeed with us but not sure if he is a one trick pony. Time will tell.

Roberts need to play regularly in PL club or La Liga with Girona.
same as Diaz, Foden and Tosin. they need experience and playing time.

I'd like to see him at Southampton, plenty of game time and if he cut it with them we'll know if he is ready to step up with us

Based on his pre season, looks like he is going out on loan.

Was expecting him to shine this pre season and score a couple while Foden and Diaz would be the substitutes. The opposite happened.

Roberts is not ready yet for us but I would like to see him stay in the PL.

Get him loaned to Huddersfield, he'll get regular game time and learn to press under Wagner.

I agree, he didnt look confident in two friendlies

but he looked confident against City in CL and performed very well against Barcelona

To be fair 2 unimpressive pre-season games shouldn't undo a full professional season being very impressive, there were other senior pros showing signs of rust, Kun, Jesus, Sané can all do much better and they will.
